Elder selection is coming up on June 7^th.  Be thinking and praying about who you would like to nominate to join Myron Graber and Jon Widmer on the elder board.  Barb Ramsey is the outgoing elder.  Nomination ballots will be handed out and collected on June 7^th. 

I scream, you scream, we all scream for pie and ice cream!  Join the youth for our next convention fundraiser, a pie and ice cream social with a hymn sing.  On Sunday, June 14^th at 6pm we will be hosting a hymn sing here at Washington Mennonite and afterwards there will be a pie and ice cream social starting at 7pm.  More details of the evenings’ frivolities are to come!  Please join us.

Have you made your contribution/pledge yet?  Washington Mennonite’s Kitchen Remodeling Project fundraising is in full swing!  Our goal is $52,900 by July 1, 2015.  The measuring cup in the foyer will continue to fill up as we reach our goal.  Pledge cards and a basket for collecting them can be found on the table at the back of the sanctuary.  Please take a few minutes to fill out your pledge and drop it in the basket or come prepared to do so in the next few weeks.  As soon as we know we can reach our goal, local contractors can be notified so the project is on their calendars.  Work could begin later this summer.  Help us make this project a reality!

Central Plains Conference

Are you passionate about being part of a Christ-centered community?  Register now for Central Plains Annual Meeting June 18-21 in St Paul.  Hear Greg Boyd, see where our Hmong sisters and brothers worship, visit a ministry in

the city, and consider a covenant for tending to our conference relationships.  Find registration information in your church office and at www.centralplainsmc.org.

The Sower Prayer Request:  Today, Joe Walks Along Jr., will be installed as pastor at Lame Deer Mennonite Church in Lame Deer, Montana.  Pray for God’s vision to be realized in Joe’s ministry in Lame Deer.

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:  Thank God for Connie and Dennis Byler’s decades of ministry with MMN in Spain.  Pray for complete healing for Connie who has undergone several eye surgeries in the past year.

Area Announcements

The Celebration Community Choir is up and running again!  Meetings will be Thursdays at 7pm in the Pleasantview Home Chapel starting on June 11^th.  The choir will remain open to everyone of every age who would like to sing throughout the summer, regardless of experience level.  Please join us for some fun singing.  Contact Nathaniel Yoder De Avila if you have any questions: nathanielyoder at gmail.com and 319.325.3059.
