I
scream, you scream, we all scream for pie and ice cream! Join
the youth for our next convention fundraiser, a pie and ice cream social with a
hymn sing. On Sunday, June 14th
at 6pm we will be hosting a hymn sing here at Washington Mennonite and
afterwards there will be a pie and ice cream social starting at 7pm. Please join in singing together and enjoying
delicious pie!
Have you made your contribution/pledge
yet? Washington Mennonite’s Kitchen
Remodeling Project fundraising is in
full swing! Our goal is $52,900 by July
1, 2015. The measuring cup in the foyer
will continue to fill up as we reach our goal.
Pledge cards and a basket for collecting them can be found on the table
at the back of the sanctuary. Please
take a few minutes to fill out your pledge and drop it in the basket or come
prepared to do so in the next few weeks.
As soon as we know we can reach our goal, local contractors can be
notified so the project is on their calendars.
Work could begin later this summer.
Help us make this project a reality!
Crooked Creek
Christian Camp
Camp starts June 8th with 1st & 2nd
graders and June 10th with 3rd & 4th
graders. Please pray for campers, counselors and all staff as we minister to
children and the community. May the
presence of God be with us all.
Central Plains
Conference
You can still register for Central
Plains Annual Meeting June 18-21 in St Paul, but please do so this week. Hear Greg Boyd, see where our Hmong sisters
and brothers worship, visit a ministry in the city, and consider a covenant for
tending to our conference relationships.
Find registration information in your church office and at www.centralplainsmc.org.
Save the Date! September 19-20, 2015. The
Annual Central Plains Mennonite Women’s Retreat at Swan Lake Chrisitan Camp
in Viborg, South Dakota. The weekend
retreat will be hosted by the Henderson, Nebraska women and will feature
speaker Luann Yutze speaking on the theme “Time in a bottle.” More details to follow.
The Sower Prayer Request: Pray for the
Villatoro family, separated by deportation.
Pray for God’s guidance and provision for Max and Gloria and their
children in this time of separation and uncertainty. Pray also for Iglesia Torre Fuerte, the
congregation in Iowa City that Max and Gloria pastor.
