Grant is preaching this morning at Sugar
Creek Mennonite Church.
In your mailboxes you’ll find a copy of the letter
from the Conference Board and Ministers summarizing their findings from the
fall regional meetings.
MCC Pancakes: We need 20 people to help serve pancakes at the MCC Sale in
Iowa City on Saturday, June 1. This has
been a project of our church for the last 38 years. We need to be in Iowa City at 6:30am to set up
for serving beginning at 7:00. Our shift
would be over at 9:00. Sign up in the
foyer. See Myron if you have questions,
need a ride, etc.
The Crooked Creek
Christian Camp Cabin Fund is in full swing. To contribute
your time/money/skills fill out a pledge sheet (with envelopes at the back of
the sanctuary).
SUMMER PLANS!
Next week we start our
12 Scriptures Summer Series! Each week until the
end of August, Grant and I (and several special guests) will preach about one
of our congretations 12 chosen scriptures.
In addition, we’ll begin
our Summer Sunday School Series. The children will
meet upstairs, and all adults will meet together in the fellowship hall. Grant will teach the adult Sunday School
series based on the “Second Mile” curriculum from Menno Media. On June
9 and July 14, we won’t have
Sunday School, but we’ll meet fro a congregational picnic in the park!
August 11th will
be VBS Sunday! We’ll meet at the church for worship, then
adjourn to CCCC’s Custer Picnic Shelter for lunch followed by a swimming party!
Iowa Mennonite School
The Hymn Sing Hustle will take place at IMS on Saturday,
June 22nd. There will be a 5K
($20) and a 1-mile fun run/walk ($10).
Register by May 31 to receive a free t-shirt; fees will increase by $5
for registerations received after May 31st. To register, please contact an IMS music
student or visit tinyurl.com/hymnsinghustle.
Registration is at 7:30am, and the run/walk will begin at 8am.

Area Mennonite Churches
The Center for Faith and Business is
offering, “Jubilee: God’s Good News for the Faith and Business community,” a 3-part study and discussion that will provide an
opportunity for people to reflect together on how we can embrace business as a
spiritual calling. The class will run
June 3rd and 10th at 7pm at the Kalona Chamber of
Commerce and on June 17th at 7pm at Geyer’s Oven in Oxford, IA. Registration deadline is May 27; $35 for all
three classes or $15 at the door per session.

Central Plains Conference
The Sower Prayer Request: Pray for
Central Plains congregations in pastor searches. Pray for patience and a Spirit-led process
for each congregation searching for pastoral leadership.
Mennonite Agencies

MCC Relief Sale will be accepting donations of fresh vegetables from your
garden. Please
bring your vegetables washed, but not prepped.

We
are in need of people and horses to park cars at the Iowa MCC Relief Sale. If you are available, please give Lonnie

gmail.com. We have two 3 hour shifts
each day at 3pm and 5pm on Friday and at 7pm and 9am on Saturday.
If
you are bringing items to the Farmers’ Market, please
remember to go to Barn 5 this year instead of Building B. Drive to the east end of Barn 5 by going to
the south parking lot and then west to Barn 5.
There will be persons there to direct you to the correct location in
Barn 5.
Children’s
Auction: Bridgette
Ingersol is collecting items to be sold at the Children’s Auction on June 1st
at 9:00am. The items should be in good
condition and attractive to children and their parents. Bring items to the fairgrounds either Friday
evening or early Saturday morning.
MCC
Sale Meals in Homes: There
is still time to volunteer to provide a meal for sale at the Annual MCC Sale to
be held May 31st and June 1st. Contact Marcia TODAY. To list your meal for proper advertising,

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer
Request: Joint
Christian Services International, a MMN partner in Mongolia, has a soccer
program to teach life-skills to children ages 11-13. Pray that Jesus’ love will be shared through
this program, and that resources will be available to expand services to
include children with visual disabilities.
Prayers for Faith and Learning: Pray for those who have or will be graduating in May and June from
Mennonite educational institutions. May
they make decisions about their future in light of God’s calling on their
lives.
Washington Area
Relay For Life’s Team HOPE is hosting
a “Barnyard Battle With Caner” June 1st at the Altenhofen Barn, 1705 Nutmeg Ave, Kalona from
4 to 8pm. A pulled pork meal will be
served with entertainment provided by Justin Horesowsky and Nicole Miller. There will be a Silent Auction, games, and
good family fun. A requested donation of
$10 for those 12 and older, $5 for children (4-11) and children under 3 are
free. All the money raised will help
Relay for Life of Washington County reach their goal of $111,000 and a 13 year
total of over 1 million dollars raised in the fight against cancer. For tickets or more info, contact Dixie

Parkview Home is planning on
re-shingling the apartment complex on June 7th and 8th. Anyone wanting to have fun, fellowship and a
sense of accomplishment at the end of the day, please meet us on those two days
at 7am or later. For those energetic
individuals, we are planning on performing some initial tear-off on Thursday
June 6th starting at 5pm. If
you are unable to attend any of these days prayers for safety and dry weather
