Dinner Theatre Recap Party:  All those involved in the dinner theatre are invited meet at church next Sunday evening the 19th, at 5pm, to discuss what went well this year, what needs tweaking, and how we can improve and be more efficient.  Bring finger foods for a potluck supper and we’ll have a big screen set-up to watch DVDs Keith gave us from ALL the past productions.

MCC Pancakes:  We need 20 people to help serve pancakes at the MCC Sale in Iowa City on Saturday, June 1.  This has been a project of our church for the last 38 years.  We need to be in Iowa City at 6:30am to set up for serving beginning at 7:00.  Our shift would be over at 9:00.  Sign up in the foyer.  See Myron if you have questions, need a ride, etc.

The Crooked Creek Christian Camp Cabin Fund is in full swing.  To contribute your time/money/skills fill out a pledge sheet (with envelopes at the back of the sanctuary).  $1750 were pledged within the first week!

The Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility choir recently presented it’s first concert.  Volunteer participants from our congregation included Edie Nebel and Roger Farmer.  Television station KWQC carried a 5 minute story about the choirc, including interviews with inmates and volunteers, which you can view at www.kwqc.com/story/ 22091826/community-choir-brings-volunteers-and-inmates-together.  If you would like to volunteer to participate in this choir in the Fall, please contact one of the volunteers mentioned above.

Mennonite Agencies

How does a local community provide healthcare for everyone, even the poor and uninsured?  Leaders from Goshen, Indiana’s large institutions and innovative clinics will share their experience at the second Annual Gathering of Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHF), June 21-23, on the campus of Goshen College.  This is just one of a number of discussions on the theme “Moral Dilemmas in Healthcare.”  All healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, therapists of all types, nutritionists, social workers, educators, etc) and other interested persons are invited to come and bring the whole family.  For more information visit www.mennohealth.org, or call 888.406.3643.

MCC would like to invite you to a Learning Tour to Haiti November 2-12, 2013.  This 10 day tour will give you a first-hand look at the problems Haiti is still facing in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, Hurrican Sandy, and other social-economical issues.  If you are interested in being an active participant, dedicated to learning and being transformed through interactions with Haitians, then this is the learning tour for you.  Space is very limited.  Please respond to Anna Yoder by Monday, June 3 at annayoder at mcc.org or 316.283.2720.

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:   Pray that God would grant wisdom, joyful surprises, and renewal to MMN personnel who are also mothers, as they learn how to parent third-culture kids far from extended families and familiar support systems.

Prayers for Faith and Learning:  Join with Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in thanking God for the volunteers who share their time, skills and friendship.  May they be blessed as they also bring blessings to the seminary.
