Dinner Theatre Recap
Party: All those involved in the dinner theatre are
invited meet at church next Sunday evening the 19th, at 5pm, to
discuss what went well this year, what needs tweaking, and how we can improve
and be more efficient. Bring finger
foods for a potluck supper and we’ll have a big screen set-up to watch DVDs
Keith gave us from ALL the past productions.
MCC Pancakes: We need 20 people to help serve pancakes at the MCC Sale in
Iowa City on Saturday, June 1. This has
been a project of our church for the last 38 years. We need to be in Iowa City at 6:30am to set
up for serving beginning at 7:00. Our
shift would be over at 9:00. Sign up in
the foyer. See Myron if you have
questions, need a ride, etc.
The Crooked Creek
Christian Camp Cabin Fund is in full swing. To contribute
your time/money/skills fill out a pledge sheet (with envelopes at the back of
the sanctuary). $1750 were pledged
within the first week!
The Mount Pleasant
Correctional Facility choir recently presented it’s first concert. Volunteer participants from our congregation
included Edie Nebel and Roger Farmer. Television
station KWQC carried a 5 minute story about the choirc, including interviews with
inmates and volunteers, which you can view at www.kwqc.com/story/ 22091826/community-choir-brings-volunteers-and-inmates-together. If you would like to volunteer to participate
in this choir in the Fall, please contact one of the volunteers mentioned above.
Iowa Mennonite School
IMS is looking for adults and
students to help plan activities and games for the MCC Children’s Booth May 31 and June 1. Please contact Candi Schmieder at the school
if there is interest in helping out.

Area Mennonite Churches
There will be a special ‘shopping
with a cause’ fundraiser event at Fairview Mennonite Church, Saturday May 25th from
10:00-1:00. Haitian Creations is a part of Heartline Ministries to Haiti and is
raising funds to build a much needed maternity center and also provides jobs
for Haitian women, enabling them to support themselves and learn more about
Christ’s love in the process. You can

The Center for Faith and Business is
offering, “Jubilee: God’s Good News for the Faith and Business community,” a 3-part study and discussion that will provide an
opportunity for people to reflect together on how we can embrace business as a
spiritual calling. The class will run
June 3rd and 10th at 7pm at the Kalona Chamber of
Commerce and on June 17th at 7pm at Geyer’s Oven in Oxford, IA. Registration deadline is May 27; $35 for all
three classes or $15 at the door per session.

Goshen, Indiana’s large institutions and innovative clinics will share their
experience at the second Annual
Gathering of Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship (MHF), June 21-23, on the
campus of Goshen College. This is just
one of a number of discussions on the theme “Moral Dilemmas in Healthcare.” All healthcare workers (doctors, nurses,
therapists of all types, nutritionists, social workers, educators, etc) and

MCC
would like to invite you to a Learning Tour to Haiti November
2-12, 2013. This 10 day tour will give
you a first-hand look at the problems Haiti is still facing in the aftermath of
the 2010 earthquake, Hurrican Sandy, and other social-economical issues. If you are interested in being an active
participant, dedicated to learning and being transformed through interactions

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer
Request: Pray
that God would grant wisdom, joyful surprises, and renewal to MMN personnel who
are also mothers, as they learn how to parent third-culture kids far from
extended families and familiar support systems.
Prayers for Faith and Learning: Join with Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in thanking God for the
volunteers who share their time, skills and friendship. May they be blessed as they also bring
blessings to the seminary.
