will be the first Sunday of our summer series on “land.” The series will run through August 19th. We’ll explore Biblical ties to the land and “landedness”
as well as our own relationship with the land as Iowa Mennonites.
The
Children’s Sunday Classes will meet in the first upstairs classroom today, and for the rest
of the summer.
ABIDING
Have
I not commanded you? Be strong and
courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be
discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9
Choosing a favorite verse is very hard when I have so many
favorite verses. This verse has been a
favorite for years. Joshua 1:9 is a
promise for 24 hours every day. God was
there to hear my borning cry and he will be there when I take my final breath. God
is with me when I am on the mountain top enjoying the sunshine and life. God is also with me when I am in the valley
and unable to see my next step clearly. He commands that I need not be afraid or
discouraged. Life is not a race. Life is a journey and God is with me every
step of the way. - Phyllis
