▪ Offering for 7/19/2020: Regular Offering: $2,276; HACAP: $400; Lighthouse: $400; Scholarship Fund: $200
▪ Join us for worship on Zoom at 10 a.m. (you will receive an invitation to the meeting by email, just click and join.) Any questions? Contact Roger Farmer.
▪ Even though we are unable to meet as a congregation right now, expenses of the church continue. Please send your donations directly to Mary Lou Farmer, 1208 N 7th Ave, Washington, IA 52353. Thanks for your support.
▪ Thank you for your continued donations to the church during this time that we are not meeting in person. If you would like your offering to the congregation to be automatically deducted from your account and deposited to the church account, please contact Mary Lou for the forms to make this happen.
▪ Picnic at camp, take 2! Let’s try again for a socially distanced picnic at the camp shelter by the pond at 12 noon, Sunday, July 26. Bring your own food; this is not a potluck. However dessert will be provided. Also bring your lawn chair for additional socially distant seating. If you have questions, talk to an elder. See you there! (Gay, Karen B., Mary Lou)
▪ School Kits! It’s that time again. This year we will be collecting cash instead of the kits to send to MCC. Please designate “school kits” when you give to this project. Checks should be given to the church treasurer by August 9, 2020. If you would rather make the actual kit, go to the MCC website for the contents and take your kits directly to Crowded Closet. Thank you! If you have questions, see Mary Lou Farmer.
▪ Megan Miller and Angela Widmer will both be students at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary this fall. Washington Mennonite Church’s practice is to provide $500 per term (up to $1000 per academic year) to students at Mennonite institutions of higher education beyond high school paid directly to the school. AMBS will match the church’s donation up to $1000 per term. Since the church is not providing that amount from the annual blueprint, WMC is establishing a Scholarship fund to provide additional funding up to $1000 per term from the church. If you would like to donate to this fund, any money given will be evenly split between students at Mennonite institutions. Please send your donations to Treasurer Mary Lou Farmer by July 26, 2020 designated for the Scholarship Fund. Thank you for your consideration.

Central Plains Conference
▪ Central Plains Prayer Request: We continue to pray for those who are most vulnerable in our communities in this strange time, as in all times. May God open our eyes to the possibilities for love and for protection of the least of these among us--and may we be willing to heed God's call.
