PROCLAIMING THE STORY
Welcome/Call to Worship – Becky Widmer
God’s call is to all
to bring hope and change
When all around
despair and chaos reign.
God’s call is to speak
God’s call is to act,
God’s call is to us.
We worship and serve.

LIVING THE STORY
Advent Candle Lighting
People of God, Esther was a heroic woman who took great risk to bring peace for her people.
We want peace to overcome struggle, violence, and cruelty.
It can be dangerous to call for peace.
This might be the job God needs us to do.
Today we light a candle to symbolize God’s peace.  We hope in the

One who will come.
We pray for God’s peace to prevail.
(pause)
People of God, take courage
We take courage from the light of God’s peace.
Advent Reflection Song
Candles Burning, vs. 1, 2
Sharing and Announcements
In our joy……Thanks be to God.
Lord in your mercy……Hear our prayer.
Lord guide us……As we are your hands and feet.
Offertory
Sending
It was in the past that God called us.
It is into the future that God calls us.
It is in the present that we respond to God’s call.
We will go, Lord, because you call us.
Today, now,
In this moment,
We will go.
