Mennonite
▪ Jon Widmer’s first term as elder concludes Sept
1st. He has agreed to serve a
second term. On July 10th
we will ask for your affirmation to have Jon serve a second term.
▪ Join Centro Cristiano on July 17 for a fundraiser
for Hispanic students who are attending IMS.
On June 26th and
July 3rd we will have a signup sheet in the foyer for those who plan
to attend. Martha Hernandez would like
to be able to plan ahead.
▪ Mike Bates would like to thank Washington Mennonite
for all the prayers for Phil Long and
his family over the last several years, and asks that we would continue to pray
for Phil’s family. Phil’s long journey
with cancer came to an end yesterday morning. We pray that each person touched
by Phil’s life and optimism, even in the midst of cancer, would feel and know
the presence of God who has been with them and is with them still, the God who
mourns with them. We pray for strength
and comfort.
▪ Washington Mennonite Summer Worship
Series: Remember to sign up in the foyer to be a Children’s story
and playtime supervisor, to bring
fellowship snacks, or to provide
lunch for the baptism class.
Crooked Creek
Christian Camp
▪ Camp starts today with 5th-6th
graders. We thank you for prayers for campers, counselors and
all staff as we minister to children sharing the love of Jesus. May the presence of Christ be with us all.
Iowa Mennonite
School
▪ IMS’ fiscal year ends June 30, and your gift is important as we close out the year
and attempt to end the year in the black.
Please consider a year-end contribution in support of our students and
the Christian education they receive.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
▪ Please come support IMS on Saturday, August 27th. There
will be several events happening throughout the day at IMS in which you can
participate. We would love to see as
many of you there as possible, plus the
congregation with the most representation will receive donuts provided by the
IMS PTO on a Sunday morning of your choice!
▪The IMS PTO will be hosting
the JOETOWN CLASSIC 5K. There will be a 1 mile race starting at
8:30am for children 12 and under, and a 5K Run/Walk for people of all ages starting
at 9am. There will even be kids’
activities planned during the 5K race!
Details and registration can be found at
http://www.iowamennonite.org/joetown-classic-5K/. Please spread the word!
▪Everence welcomes the opportunity to
partner with the IMS PTO in sponsoring the Joetown Classic 5K Run. In addition, Everence is hositng a complimentary lunch between
11am-1pm. Stop by our table, sign up for
prizes, challenge someone at a corn-hole game, and fellowship while enjoying
lunch.
▪Be part of an easy $6000
donation to IMS! All you have to do is take a short,
no sales pitch, test drive (without a sales person) from IMS to Lower
Deer Creek. Really it’s that easy, and it’s free. Anyone 18 years or older with a driver’s
license can pick from a variety of Ford vehicles and take this very short test
drive. For each drive, IMS gets $20 from
Ford. Test Drives will take place between 8am and 2pm. Take a couple minutes to join this effort
and you really can make a difference for IMS!

Mennonite
Mission Network Prayer Request: MMN
requests prayer for the 70 students enrolled at the Toba/Qom Bible Institute in
the Argentine Chaco, who are reading the Bible in their own language as they
study theology and an overview of the Old Testament. May God touch the students’ lives, as many
don’t participate in any church.
