Our Church
▪ After Church TODAY – Potluck at the
Wellman Park – Join us for a picnic
potluck at the Wellman Park (so that Dickie Miller can cross the road and join
us!) at noon. We’ll be in the large
shelter closest to the Parkside Community Center. The
Baptism Class will meet at the Wellman Park following the picnic.
▪ Attention all quilters: Washington
Mennonite is inviting all Bethel quilters to join us for our monthly quilting
day this Wednesday, June 15 at
10am. There is room for everyone as a
new quilt is being put in for the 2017 MCC Sale. Lunch at noon will be a potluck. See you there!
▪ Washington Mennonite Summer Worship
Series: Remember to sign up in the foyer to be a Children’s story
and playtime supervisor, to bring
fellowship snacks, or to provide
lunch for the baptism class.
Central Plains
Conference
▪ The Sower Prayer Request: In
just five weeks, Central Plains youth will gather for Youth Escape 2016. Pray for all involved in planning, all who
participate, and speaker Michele Hershberger.
Mennonite Agencies
▪ MC USA Announcement:
Culture Shock, a leadership conference for youth of color, will be held Aug
26-28 at Calvary Community Church, Hampton, Virginia. Sponsor: MC USA. Geared to high school youth, college students
and young adults, the event will help participants strengthen their leadership
skills and provide a space for them to connect with elders and mentors who can
provide ongoing guidance, teaching and support in their journeys as
leaders. Registration: $10/person. A travel stipend of $600 per group is also
available to youth groups. See:
mennoniteusa.org/culture-shock.
▪ Mennonite
Mission Network Prayer Request: Today,
Linda Oyer of MMN leads a “walking church” in a 142-acre park near Paris,
France. Pray for this annual tradition
that makes it easy for people to invite their neighbors who would not easily
enter a church. This year’s theme is “The
Symbolism of Water in the Bible.”
