Crooked Creek Christian Camp

CCCC Fall Fundraiser brochures available.

On Saturday, Nov 9, camp is hosting annual Wood Cutting Day.  Come with chain saws and pickups or to exercise.  Please call ahead to reserve your lunch spot.

On Nov 22-23, camp will be replacing the North side of the Pavilion roof.  4 volunteers needed Nov 22 to prepare the roof for steel sheets.  8 volunteers needed Nov 23 to nail down the steel sheeting.  To volunteer please contact Tim Friesen 319.653.3611.

Iowa Mennonite School

Get your tickets for the production of The Little Mermaid, Jr. by calling the school soon!  The Nov 9 (7pm) and 10 (3pm) production will feature a cast and crew of more than 50 students, under the direction of Mary Forney and Josh Tyson.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students.  Free passes will be honored, but seats must still be reserved.

IMS’ National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive in the lower lobby of Celebration Hall, on Friday, Nov 8.  Donation times are from 7-11:30am; appointments can be made by calling the school, through walk-ins are also welcome.
The IMS Music Boosters are again organizing a Pizza Ranch Fundraiser, on Mon, Nov 18 at the Sycamore Mall location in Iowa City.  The event will be from 5-8pm; IMS music students will bus tables and assist throughout the evening, with 15% of the proceeds benefiting the booster club.  Gratuities will also be gratefully accepted!

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:   Thank God for Miriam Krantz’s 50 years of ministry in Nepal with MMN.  Miriam has worked as a nutritionist and invented super flour – a combination of nutritious local grains that has saved countless malnourished children.  Pray for health as Miriam continues to serve others.

Prayers for faith and learning:  Pray for those applying for the Formation, Worship and Preaching faculty position at Eastern Mennonite Seminary and for those on the search committee.

Sugar Creek Mennonite Church’s MYF will host their annual Chili Supper from 5-7pm on Wed, Nov 13 at the church.  They will serve 4 kinds of chili, bread and apple butter, and pies and other desserts.  Free-will offering to fund the MYF trip to West Virginia next summer with Sharing With Appalachian People.  Carry outs available.

Chamber Singers of Iowa City will be performing Sunday, Nov 17, at Opstad Auditorium in Iowa City High School (1900 Morningside Drive).  Tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors, $5 for students and can be bought online at 222.iccchambersingers.org or at the door.  The Singers finished last season with a May performance of “Spring” and “Summer”, and now will finish Haydn’s immortal oratorio with “Fall” and “Winter.”
