Iowa Mennonite School

IMS is holding a week-long theatre camp this summer, from July 8-12.  Come and join the cast ofCalamity Jane & the Showdown at Dry Gulch!  The camp is for anyone who has completed grades 1-12, and will take place in Celebration Hall on the IMS campus.  Camp times are 8:30 am-12:30 pm daily, with a mid-morning snack provided each day.  A performance will be given at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 12, also in Celebration Hall.  There is a cost to attend the camp; for more information please call Candi Schmieder at 319-656-2073, and check our website at www.iowamennonite.org.

Area Mennonite Churches

On June 30^th, there will be a fund-raiser meal prepared by the Maria & Enrique Mendoza family from the Torre Fuerte congregation that meets at First Mennonite in Iowa City.  Donations will assist their children in attending IMS.  The meal will be at First Mennonite, beginning at approximately 11:45 am.

Central Plains Conference

The Sower Prayer Request:  Pray for the reconciling, renewing presence of God’s Spirit at the MC USA Assembly and Youth Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, in the coming week.  Pray especially that many youth will commit their lives to Jesus Christ.

Mennonite Agencies

The Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Fear Not campaign is initiating a poster contest to help congregations

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:   Pray for Alyssa Rodriguez of MMN as she works to perfect her Spanish and find her ministry niche at Quito Mennonite Church in Ecuador.  She asks God for the words to share her care and Jesus’ love with people who are marginalized, especially the Colombian refugees.

Prayers for Faith and Learning:  Hundreds of teens will explore college options at the MC USA Youth Convention in Phoenix, Ariz., in the coming week.  Pray for the college students and admissions staff who will meet and talk with them about the values and opportunities at Mennonite colleges and universities.
