Sunday morning prayer time at WMC – Come to church at 8:50 AM each Sunday morning for a time of prayer for any concerns you may have.  Everyone is welcome.

Preaching schedule for summer:
August 7:  Amanda Beachy’s installation service with potluck following
                                   at noon
August 14:  Amanda, The Bread of Life
August 21:  Grant, The Vine & the Branches

This summer we are looking at the parables of Jesus as our theme.  The children will be talking about the same parable in their Sunday school class.  Parables were used by Jesus to invite his listeners to think more deeply about living God’s ways for all ages.

Next Sunday will be Amanda Beachy’s installation service at Washington Mennonite Church.  There will be a potluck noon meal to welcome Amanda with some of her family and friends from Kalona Mennonite here as well.

Thanks so much to all who helped make Vacation Bible School a success.  We had a great week at Crooked Creek Christian Camp (in spite of the warm weather!)  A special thanks to the staff for making it such a fun time for the kids.  May we all remember to “Taste and See that God is Good”.

Tim Detweiler, Tim Widmer, Roger Farmer, Caleb Detweiler, and Susan See are featured in an article about conscientious objectors in the Wednesday, July 27, 2011, issue of the Washington Evening Journal.  A copy of this article is posted on the bulletin board.  Be sure to take a look at it!

Thank you notes have been received from our visitors from the Ecuador Mennonite Church a few weeks ago and have been posted on the bulletin board.  These visits were very meaningful to Darwin and Mirian Villacis (elders at Quito Mennonite Church), Raul and Ivette Escobar (leaders at Riobamba Mennonite Church), and Josua Montoya, a young person from the Riobamba church.  Be sure to read their expressions of thanks.
