Crooked Creek Christian Camp
▪ Exciting things are happening this spring at
Crooked Creek!
1. Make sure to register for the Mud Run, May 4th. It's a fantastic way to support the campership fund and a blast for the entire family!

need help getting our cabins cleaned and ready for summer camp, we're hosting a
spring cleaning April 27th. Lunch
will be provided, please let the camp know if you're willing to help us
out.

4. Want
to get involved with summer camp? We're
looking for counselors, lifeguards, assistant cooks, and nurses. Call
the camp for more information.
Iowa Mennonite School
▪ Jr/Sr Banquet | This year's theme is Una Noche en
México. The annual event will be on April
27 with an 'arrival' time from 5:45-6:30 PM which the public is welcome to
attend.
▪ Peter Pan & Wendy | Rehearsals are underway for the spring drama Peter
Pan & Wendy. Performances are May 4
at 7:00 PM and May 5 at 3:00 PM in
Celebration Hall. Reserved tickets can be purchased by calling the office:
$9/adults and $5/students K-12. Please check out iowamenno nite.org/drama fi rst to see
what's available. Tickets at the door are general admission: $10/adults and
$6/students.
▪ SAVE THE DATE | IMS will be hosting another Into The Black
fundraising event on June 28. Save Room For Pie will feature a concert by The
Walking Roots Band, a silent auction of meals, and (of course) pie and ice
cream. Look for more details soon but mark your calendars now and plan to
attend this important event to help IMS get 'into the black' at the end of
the year.

Emphasis |
This week at IMS will have special Spiritual Emphasis days on April 22-24. The speaker/facilitator
will be Ali Hettinger from Columbia, MO. Ali has a counseling practice and
attends Anthem Church in Columbia. Through her topic of 'Crucial Conversations'
she will work with IMS on how to engage each other in respectful discussions.
The public is encouraged to attend. Chapel times are 9:47-10:17 AM each
day.
Iowa Mennonite
Relief Sale
▪ We will need many helping hands at the Iowa
Mennonite Relief Sale, May 31 & June 1, 2019 to ensure everything runs

check out the various volunteer opportunities. Your support enables our
sale to raise funds for Mennonite Central Committee's global mission of relief,

Mennonite Relief Sale Tractorcade: Will meet at Fairview Church on Friday,
May 31 from 12:00-1:00pm for check in. The
Tractorcade will be leaving for the Fairgrounds at 1:30pm SHARP.
Donations will be collected at check-in before leaving for the Tractorcade.
Registration deadline is May 6 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Please register by
May 22 if you are planning to participate so we can plan for parking space at
the fairgrounds. Please contact LaVern Shetler at 319-530-0032 if you have

▪ It's time to register for the Relief Sale 5K Trail Run
& 1 Mile Walk! On Saturday, June 1 at 8am, the 5K run begins at the
fairgrounds and continues through the woods and hills of neighboring Ryerson's
Woods Park. The 1-mile fun and casual walk will take place at the fairgrounds
with mostly flat surfaces and suitable for strollers and all ages. After the
run, enjoy an all-you-can-eat pancake, sausage, egg and fried mush breakfast.

The end of the
fiscal year is near! The Central
Plains conference fiscal year ends on April 30th and we would
welcome and be thankful for any contributions to arrive prior to the end of

Mission Network Prayer Request: On Friday, Mennonite Mission Network’s Sent conference will begin at
The Beloved Community Mennonite Church in Denver, Colorado. Pray for this
three-day event that will bring together Mennonite Church USA leaders to seek
God’s plan for energizing existing congregations and planting new ones in the
context of the 21st century.

are attending the Sent conference in Denver, Colorado, April 26-28. Learn

Bring your friends and enjoy a time of food and fellowship! Come
support our youth with your donation. All proceeds will go toward helping
the youth attend the Mennonite Youth Convention and our July missions trip.

Rotary Club’s annual Omelet Breakfast on May 4 will benefit Pleasantview Home’s building
project this year, and all are invited to attend, eat, and support the cause!
