▪ Buy your tickets now! The one act Christmas
opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, by Gian-Carlo
Menotti, will be on the Celebration Hall stage
for one night only, December 17 at 7:30 PM. Come experience
the story of the three Magi’s visit to the home of Amahl, the crippled shepherd
boy and his mother, while on their journey to seek the Christ child. Tickets
are $15 adults; $10 students. Call the IMS office to reserve your tickets today

▪ The
annual Junior Pork Supper will
be on Saturday, October 8 serving from
4:30-7:00 PM
in Hillcrest Union on the campus of IMS. The junior class is currently
selling tickets, but tickets will also be available at the door. Plan to
join us and fellowship around a fantastic meal supporting the junior class at
IMS.
▪ Sunday, October 9 is the Fall Music Concert in
Celebration Hall on the campus of IMS. The Chorale, Concert
Choir, and Symphonic Band will perform at 3:00PM. Following
the concert is the Annual
Hayride hosted by the IMS FFA students. All students in 6th -
8th grades and their families are invited to stay after the concert for a
hayride, games, hot dog roast, and a sing-along. Join us in getting to
know our current students and some of our
staff in this fall kick-off event. It is helpful as we plan for food if

artifacts, letters, photos
and documents that tell the story of conscientious objectors during World War

▪ MCC Material Resource need Update: Thank you for all your generous contributions,
MCC school kits and other supplies keep rolling into the Workroom in North
Newton and we are thrilled! We have a few gaps that we need your help filling
so that complete kits can be packed and sent out around the world for
distribution. Current needs are: rulers (flat, flexible plastic; indicating
both 30 cm and 12 in), hand towels (dark color), dressmaker's scissors, bar
soap (packaged, not boxed) and infant sleepers. Your donation of these items in
person, via Amazon Smile or check (designated MCC Kits) is appreciated.

▪ New MCC Staff! We are excited to announce that Sarah Fleming and
Kate Mast have joined our staff! Sarah is the new MCC Central States Thrift
Shop Coordinator, providing support and services to the 11 thrift shops in the
Central States region as well as seeking out future thrift opportunities in the
region. Sarah will work from her home in Iola, Kan. Kate Mast is the new MCC
Central States Workroom Supervisor, overseeing the processing of material aid
donations and coordination of collecting, assembling and distribution of MCC
kits, which includes providing educational opportunities and volunteer
management. Please join us in welcoming both Sarah and Kate to MCC Central
States!
▪ Mennonite Mission Network (MMN) Prayer Request: Join Mennonite Mission
Network’s Jackson, Mississippi, Service Adventure unit in thanking God for a
good start to their year living and serving in community. Pray for unit leaders
Caleb and Hannah Hochstetler, and participants Susannah Epp, Valerie Haupt, Niklas

Group) invites you to hear Pastor Jose and his wife address the topic,
"Love Without Limits." Jose ministers to the poorest of the poor in
a squatter settlement in northern Mexico. Join us on

Fall Fundraiser! Sunday, October 9th from 11:30 to 1:30. Soups and Sundae Bar with a free will

▪ Spoken4 Quartet from Branson, MO will be in concert on Saturday, October 15, 6 pm
at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church. You will enjoy some new songs as well as
some old time favorites. Come hear how one group member had to deal with
suicide in his immediate family. There will be a freewill offering.
▪ Kalona Coaches
is offering a trip to Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky. We will be boarding
the coach Monday October 17th
and will be home Wednesday evening, October 19th.
