second Central Plains Bible Study Webinar is around the corner! We had a great turnout for the first
one--join us at 7:30pm on Monday, October 24 in our church sanctuary.
In A Two-Edged Sword: Reading the Bible Like an Anabaptist, we will
look at some of the difficult texts in the Bible. These webinars are especially
for Sunday School teachers and Bible study leaders,
but anyone is welcome.

free showing of Screenagers in Celebration Hall on the campus of
IMS. This event is free and open to the public. Here's a summary.
'Screenagers probes into the vulnerable corners of family life,
including the director’s own, and depicts messy struggles over social media,
video games, academics and internet addiction. Through surprising insights from
authors and brain scientists solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to
best navigate the digital world.'

now! The one act Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night
Visitors, by Gian-Carlo Menotti, will be on the Celebration Hall stage
for one night only, December 17 at 7:30 PM. Come experience
the story of the three Magi’s visit to the home of Amahl, the crippled
shepherd boy and his mother, while on their journey to seek the Christ child.

Conference
▪ Central Plains Mennonite
Conference Prayer Request: Pray for the Central
Plains Pastoral Leadership Committee as they interview and credential pastors
and other leaders for our conference congregations. Willis Busenitz is the
chair and Tim Detweiler staffs the committee.

▪ Pipeline to Prison
Learning Tour March 20-24. Join MCC staff and partners for this learning
tour focusing on the challenges and complexities of the U.S. criminal justice
system. Based in New Orleans, LA the
tour will include: a juvenile detention center, a women’s prison, Angola, the
Louisiana State Penitentiary. Cost is
$500 per person. Transportation to and
from New Orleans will be an additional cost.

▪ Mennonite Mission Network (MMN) Prayer Request: Praise God for Lillian and Norm Nicolson’s long-term
commitment to share God’s word with the Siamou people of Burkina Faso through
Mennonite Mission Network and Mennonite Church Canada. Pray for someone willing
