Lent
1: One more time
We think contracts are binding for both sides. Yet God turns our self-importance upside down
and unilaterally offers second, third, and fourth chances. What if God’s covenant isn’t just about us?
FIRST LOOK
We invite you to greet those around you and welcome visitors to
our time of worship as you enter the sanctuary.
As the prelude begins, we invite you
to end your conversations with those around you and quiet your hearts and minds
in preparation for the worship service.

If
God is going to turn us upside down and inside out during this Lenten season,
we will need to give our consent to that transformation by being oriented
toward, and around, God. The classic way
Christians have done this is through prayer.
Each week during Lent the children (and adults) will be invited to
participate in different ways of praying—ways of praying that invite God to
focus and refocus our lives on and in Christ.
