Jacayla
and Tanner’s Graduation Party will be
this afternoon, May 18th
at the Wellman Banquet Center, 316 8th Ave, Wellman, from 3-6pm.
Our church is in charge of the Saturday Kitchen on May 24th. Tim and Cindy will be gone so Sandy, Gay, and
Gloria will be coordinating volunteers. Still needed: people to set up tables and chairs (for 100
people), people to clean up and put tables away (at 1pm).

Christian Camp
Camp-a-Palooza was a great
success and
visitors expressed hope in attending the event next year. Thank you for coming to support us! We look forward to seeing many more in
2015. We raised $2001 on May 10th.
Camp is UREGENTLY seeking nurses
to assist our summer camp program. You
can be an RN, LPN, EMT, paramedic or medical doctor. Food and lodging provided.
Iowa Mennonite
School
IMS will hold graduation
exercises Saturday and Sunday, May 24th and 25th; Baccalaureate will begin at
6pm on Saturday, with Diane Zaerr Brenneman delivering the message and seniors
Nicole de Jesus-Roetlin and Dallas Nye speaking on behalf of their
classmates. Merle Hostetler, uncle of
senior Reggie Hostetler, will deliver the Commencement address on Sunday at
6pm. Thirty-three
seniors will graduate; both services will be in Celebration Hall.

Iowa Relief Sale
Calling all MCC Alumni! You’re invited to an MCC alumni gathering at the Iowa Mennonite Relief
Sale on Friday, May 30th at 6pm in the MCC Tent. Join us to meet fellow alumni and hear Bruno
Baerg, MCC Area Director for Southern Africa, share stories about MCC’s current
work. You are welcome to bring your
supper and eat in the tent! We look
forward to seeing you at the Relief Sale!

handcrafted items. If interested

for a way to contribute to the relief and development work of MCC? Support our Iowa MCC
Sale this May 30 and 31. Garden produce
is needed for the sale. You may bring it
washed or unwashed. Rhubarb sells
well! Cakes, especially angel food
cakes, are needed for the cake

Opportunity
to contribute to MCC: It’s
time to roll out the grill and dust off the pots and pans and plan a meal for
your guests as you sell a meal at the MCC Sale either in your home or cater a
meal to a designated location. We are in

Mission Network Prayer Request: Annelise Goldschmidt serves as the
logistics coordinator for Mission Inter Senegal, a MMN partner and the largest
mission organization in the country.
Pray for Annelise and MIS’s more than 60 national mission workers in
agriculture, community development, evangelism, and health in this
predominately Muslim region.
Prayers for faith and learning: Pray for
graduating seniors and their families as they participate in baccalaureate and
commencement at Bethel (Kan.) College today, and especially for commencement
speaker Dale Schrag, who will retire from Bethel after 30 years of service.
Area Events
We warmly
invite the community to celebrate the completion of the newest Habitat for
Humanity home. We couldn’t have done it
without the many volunteers and church support in our community. Thank you to all who helped out! Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 5-7 pm – Habitat Open
House – 1633 Highland Ave, Washington.
The Sound of Washington will present their Spring Concert at 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 27 at the Washington United Methodist
Church featuring classic campfire songs both old and new. The Sound
of Washington is an adult special needs choir made up of individuals from
Washington County ranging in age from 19-65, directed by Amy (Swartzendruber)
Drayfahl. All who attend are sure to be
blessed as the choir shares their pure JOY of music. So, hike
over and join us as we present “Camp Sound of Washington!”

Wednesday, May 28th 10:30-11:30 in the Crowded Closet
workroom. Come listen to Bruno share
about how work at Crowded Closet translates into a powerful witness in the
world.
Sugar Creek
MYF will host a Burger Bash from noon-1pm, Sunday, June 1 in the
Fellowship Hall. Come for pork burgers,
hot dogs, chips, and sides. Proceeds
from this fundraiser will be used to buy ministry items requested by Sharing
With Appalachian People, such as tools, bedding & linens, smoke detectors,
toiletries, etc.
