About the Summer
Series: As Grant and I were teaching
the Jr High Sunday School class last fall, we thought perhaps the book we were
using, “Claiming Faith: Youth Discover the Confession of Faith” might be a good
church-wide book to study and think about.
In ten sessions, the book explores various aspects of the Confession of
Faith in a Mennonite Perspective, including lessons on Claiming: Our Identity,
God, Ourselves as God’s Creation, Sin and Salvation, the Church, the Promise,
the Community, the Walk, Peace, and Allegiance.
Each session is written to go along with one or more article of the
Confession of Faith.
Starting on June 29th and running through September 14, each
week of our summer series will feature worship oriented around the theme of the
day, followed by a combined Jr High/High School/Adult Sunday School hour in the
fellowship hall spent exploring the lesson.
We’re excited to get started learning about and renewing our
understanding of God, the Church, and each of us through this study of the
Confession of Faith! - Amanda

IMS’ annual Fairway Fun Golf outing is scheduled for Saturday,
June 14 from 7:30am-1:30pm. The entry
fee of $75 entitles golfers to 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, door prizes,
and a sleeve of balls. It’s a great way

biblical discernment.
The Sower Prayer Request: Pray that
God would provide for the pastoral leadership needs of the Hmong Mennonite
Church of St. Paul.

Mission Network Prayer Request: Praise God for the 107 people who
have made a decision to follow Jesus and be baptized into the Evangelical
Mennonite Church of Burkina Faso, a MMN partner. Pray for courage and faithfulness for these
new believers who may face derision and persecution by a Muslim majority.
Prayers for faith and learning: Bluffton
(OH) University students are returning from Cross Cultural experiences. Please pray for their adjustment to life “back
home” and that they carry new life lessons of service and respect with them.

MYF will host a Burger Bash from noon-1pm, Sunday, June 1 in the
Fellowship Hall. Come for pork burgers,
hot dogs, chips, and sides. Proceeds
from this fundraiser will be used to buy ministry items requested by Sharing
With Appalachian People, such as tools, bedding & linens, smoke detectors,
toiletries, etc.
