The
new adult Sunday School class will
continue a study of the book of Matthew, beginning today with Jesus’ Sermon on
the Mount in Chapter 5. Class leaders
are Roger Farmer and Barb Ramsey. All
are welcome.
IMS’
Turkey Steak Supper will take place
on March 15, served by the Alumni
Association and Washington Township Optimists.
There are no advance tickets available, and the meal will be served on a
donation basis; it will be held in the IMS cafeteria, located below the gym. From
the Washington Mennonite congregation, we are requesting 5 pies and 4 workers
(the 4:15-6:15 pm shift). Workers
and pies should be indicated on the signup sheet posted, or please contact

Crooked Creek Christian Camp
Thank
you for your contributions and
participation in Coins for Camp as we replenish our craft supplies. We appreciate your partnership with us. The church that wins the contest will be
notified.
IMS
senior Abbie Dewild (a student of Susan
See) will present her Senior Recital on Saturday, March 8, in Celebration
Hall at 7:00pm with refreshments to follow.
IMS’s Touring Choir, will present a program of music on Sunday, March 9 at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church at 7pm. All are invited.
The IMS Alumni Association and
Washington Township Optimist Club
will team up once again to serve the annual Turkey Steak Supper at
IMS. The meal, to include turkey steak,
baked potato, salad, dinner roll, and homemade dessert, will be served in the
IMS cafeteria (lower level), on Saturday, March
15. Serving will be from
4:30-7:30pm, and the cost of the meal will be by donation; proceeds will
benefit both organizations.
Central Plains Conference
The Sower Prayer Request: Pray for
Partner in Mission Philip Friesen as he serves and reaches out to international
students and scholars at the University of Minnesota.

Mennonite
Healthcare Fellowship Meeting: All
Mennonite health care workers; doctors, nurses, dentists, therapists, and
dietitians and spouses are invited to a meal and fellowship on March 5th at First Mennonite
Church at 6:30 pm. Come and learn about
MHF and meet your colleagues and fellowship together. Paul Leichty executive director will be
present. You don’t need to be a member

The
Spring meeting of the Crowded Closet Association will be held March 17,
7:00pm at Wellman Mennonite Church. Any interested
persons are invited to attend and hear what new and exciting things are
happening at the Closet.
Mennonite
Mission Network Prayer Request: This month, MMN’s partner, DOOR,
is hosting students on spring break.
Pray that students will see the face of God in the cities as they work
with local agencies, learn from local leaders, and reflect on the intersection
of faith and service in their lives.
Prayers for faith and learning: Bethel College’s
social work program celebrates forty years in 2014. Thank God for the compassion and caring of
social work faculty and graduates over the decades, as the department begins
National Social Work Month with several special guest speakers on campus.
Areas Events
MOPS Annual Turkey and all the Fixings
Lunch: Please join the Kalona MOPS group at our annual
fundraiser lunch on March 2nd from 11:30 to 1:30 at Kalona
Mennonite Church. Menu includes turkey,
potatoes, green beans, lettuce salad, fluff, roll and dessert. Free will donations accepted. MOPS cookbooks will be available for
purchase.
Everyone is invited to the World Day
of Prayer service on March 7 at the First Baptist Church at 1:30pm.
World Day of Prayer is a Christian, global, ecumenical movement in which
participants gather together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the
first Friday of March. This year’s focus
country is Egypt.
Sunday, March 9th, Joe Zupetz of Z Ministries will be at Bethel
Mennonite Church along with their Praise Band.
Joe will be sharing during the morning service at 9:30am, and an evening
service at 6 pm. We invite everyone to
join us.
All area
church members who work with children and youth are invited to a Protecting Our Children workshop with
Jeanette Harder and Jon Stanton from Dove’s Nest. The Dove’s Nest’s mission is to empower and
equip faith communities to keep children and youth safe in their homes,
churches, and communities. The workshop
will be held on Saturday, March 22 from 8:30-11:30am at the West Union
Mennonite Church, 3253 305th St, Parnell, IA. Please, RSVP by March 15th by
