Crooked Creek Christian Camp

Women Walking: Experience the Journey will meet this Wednesday, Sept 18 at 10am at the Activity Center at CCCC.  This program is for any woman interested in having a time to walk, reflect, and connect with God and others.  We will discuss program logistics and walk.  Bring your walking shoes and a friend.

Senior Day, Thursday, Oct 3rd: Health & Healing.  You don’t want to miss this chance to hear Jep Hostetler present on how humor can affect our health through two interactive workshops.  Also, the talented Bob Birkey will perform old hymns on guitar.  The day is $20 and we will provide lunch and entertainment from 9am-2pm.  All adults interested in this program are welcome. It is not exclusive to Senior Citizens.  Please RSVP by calling the camp at 319.653.3611 or by going to our website www.crookedcreekcamp.org and registering online under the program page.  This day is going to be great. Don’t miss out!

Iowa Mennonite School

Any and all local 6th-8th grade students are invited to the IMS home volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept 17.  Between the JV and varsity games, ice cream will be served in the cafeteria.  Come get to know other potential IMS students.

Anyone interested in the enrollment/admissions effect of IMS is invited to a 6pm meeting at the school on Monday, Sept 23.  Director of Enrollment Candi Schmieder will facilitate the gathering and invite input on the school’s efforts to attract more students.  Please contact her for more information.

Peace Pies & Prophets is come to the area! The popular performance by Ted Swartz of Ted & Co fame will make an appearance at IMS on Saturday, Oct 12.  It’s the same evening as the annual Junior Class Pork Supper, so come and enjoy dinner and a show. Meal tickets are available from any IMS junior (or by calling the office), and there is no admission charge for the show in Celebration Hall…although there will be a free-will offering along with a pie auction as a part of the show.  Proceeds from the show will benefit both Christian Peacemaker Teams and IMS; your support will be much appreciated! Everence is helping sponsor the event, and the local JPOG group is also lending a hand in securing pies and volunteers. It promises to be a fun evening, which begins with the meal (4-7 pm); live music at 6:30; and the show at 7:30. Please contact Larry Swartzendruber at IMS for more information.

Following the exercise all who attend are welcome to stay for lunch with MCC Central States board and staff to learn more about MCC's current work. Shalom Mennonite Church is located at 800 E. 1st St, Newton, KS 67114. Please RSVP for this event to Tina Schrag at tinaschrag at mcc.org or 316.283.2720.
