The Bike Ride/Progressive Supper is set for Sunday evening, Sept 29th. You do not have to ride bike. You may ride in your car! We will be at Grant and Edie’s at 5:30 and
will wander on over to Megan/Amanda/Andrea’s for dessert.
Crooked Creek Christian Camp
Women Walking: Experience the Journey will meet this Wednesday, Sept 18 at 10am at the
Activity Center at CCCC. This program is
for any woman interested in having a time to walk, reflect, and connect with
God and others. We will discuss program
logistics and walk. Bring your walking
shoes and a friend.
Senior Day, Thursday, Oct 3rd: Health &
Healing. You don’t want to miss this chance to hear
Jep Hostetler present on how humor can affect our health through two interactive
workshops. Also, the talented Bob Birkey
will perform old hymns on guitar. The
day is $20 and we will provide lunch and entertainment from 9am-2pm. All adults interested in this program are
welcome. It is not exclusive to Senior Citizens. Please RSVP by calling the camp at

Iowa Mennonite School
Any
and all local 6th-8th
grade students are invited to the IMS home volleyball match on Tuesday,
Sept 17. Between the JV and varsity
games, ice cream will be served in the cafeteria. Come get to know other potential IMS
students.
Anyone interested in the
enrollment/admissions effect of IMS
is invited to a 6pm meeting at the school on Monday, Sept 23. Director of Enrollment Candi Schmieder will
facilitate the gathering and invite input on the school’s efforts to attract
more students. Please contact her for

Peace Pies & Prophets is come to the
area! The popular performance by Ted
Swartz of Ted & Co fame will
make an appearance at IMS on Saturday, Oct 12.
It’s the same evening as the annual Junior Class Pork Supper, so come
and enjoy dinner and a show. Meal tickets are available from any IMS junior (or
by calling the office), and there is no admission charge for the show in
Celebration Hall…although there will be a free-will offering along with a pie
auction as a part of the show. Proceeds
from the show will benefit both Christian
Peacemaker Teams and IMS; your support will be much appreciated! Everence
is helping sponsor the event, and the local JPOG group is also lending a hand
in securing pies and volunteers. It promises to be a fun evening, which begins
with the meal (4-7 pm); live music at 6:30; and the show at 7:30. Please

gathered for the Central Plains Mennonite Women retreat next weekend at Swan
Lake Christian Camp near Viborg, South Dakota.

People & New Hours - Mennonite Central Committee Central
States has several new people to introduce to you! Michelle Armster is our new
Transitional Executive Director. Michelle currently lives in Lancaster, PA and
is Associate Pastor of Community Life at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church. She
will move to Kansas and work from the North Newton office. Also in North
Newton, Anna Yoder is Donor Relations Coordinator, Megan Upton-Tyner is Office
Manager and Dan Stucky is Warehouse Coordinator (he works daily from 1-5pm).
New Hours! The North Newton MCC Center is once again open Monday-Friday,
8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm. Please stop by and see us 121 E. 30th in North Newton or

All
Are Invited to Participate in the Loss of Turtle Island on
Friday, September 27 at Shalom Mennonite Church in Newton, KS at 10am. The
Loss of Turtle Island exercise provides an opportunity to interactively explore
the historic relationship between Europeans, specifically Mennonites in the
Central States region, and the Indigenous nations who inhabit the land we now
call the United States of America. The exercise uses blankets to represent the
lands of what is now known as the United States, and the distinct cultures and
nations which live on those lands to this day. Following the exercise all who
attend are welcome to stay for lunch with MCC Central States board and staff to
learn more about MCC's current work. Shalom Mennonite Church is located at 800

Mennonite Mission
Network Prayer Request: In a
country where following Jesus is not authorized, a Christian counselor thanks
God for a MMN woman whose ministry includes developing discipleship materials
and translating Christian literature.
Pray for safety and encouragement for mission workers and Christians who
communicate God’s love in countries such as this one.
Prayers for faith and learning: Pray for
Eloy Ridriquez, new principal at the Lancaster Mennonite School – New Danville
Campus, and for LMS administrator Judi Mollenkof who will now be serving as
principal of the Kraybill Campus as well as continuing as principal of the
Locust Grove Campus.

Importance of Revelation Today’ and an ‘Introduction to The Dead Sea Scrolls’
