ABIDING
“Blessed is the man who trusts
in the Lord and whose trust is the Lord.
For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots
by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but it’s leaves will be
green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield
fruit.” - - Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Trust in the Lord with all
your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
- Proverbs 3:5
These
verses have been posted in our house for years.
Many times in life, I have not understood why ‘bad’ things happen. Why do young persons get killed in a car or
motorcycle accident, or die due to cancer?
These verses remind me to continue to trust God, to continue to walk in
faith. I love the image of a tree
drinking from the water that brings life, green leaves and fruit when the heat
comes. I want to be able to also drink
from God’s life and strength when the storms of life come, to continue to
trust. – Carol D
Vision
Statement - As followers of Jesus
Christ, we are a community of faith
empowered by the Holy Spirit,
seeking to love God with all our heart, mind, soul,
and strength, and to love others as our self.
