Iowa Mennonite School
The IMS theatre department will present Princess and Bottle of Joy in the ever-popular Children’s Drama production this afternoon.  Thirty-two students, under the direction of Mary Forney, will entertain children of all ages on the IMS stage.  The performance is at 2pm; admission is by donation, with proceeds benefiting the theatre department.

The Music Department will present their annual Spring Concert at 7 pm in the school’s Celebration Hall.  The concert will feature all vocal groups, including the Chorale, touring Choir, Chamber Singers, and other ensembles; and the Symphonic Band.  All are invited, no admission charge.

Senior Recitals: On May 6, at 2 pm Amanda Bartel will be giving her senior recital.  Amanda will play piano and violin, as well as share her vocal talents.  On May 12, at 3:30 pm Hoi Ting Davidson will present her senior recital.  Ting will play the violin and piano, and enlist the help of the Chamber Singers.  Both will be given in Celebration Hall and include receptions afterward.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 9, when Iowa Mennonite School will host an evening of music!  The music will be provided by local churches:  solos, groups, ensembles, choirs, etc.  We're asking each church to provide one or more "entries", and to contact Larry Swartzendruber at IMS to register your group.  It is NOT a contest, but rather an evening of musical enjoyment.  Of course all are invited
to attend the event; it will include a fund-raising offering in support of IMS' Annual Fund.  Please check the poster on the bulletin board for more specific information.

Crooked Creek Christian Camp

What better way to get in shape, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and spend time with friends/family then to participate in the 5K FUN RUN/WALK hosted by Crooked Creek Christian Camp. We invite you to join us on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. to help us raise money for our Campership Fund.

Crooked Creek Christian Camp needs a volunteer couple to serve from one to four weeks this summer, June 11-July 6, 2012. Assignments will include helping in the kitchen, cleaning, doing laundry and other small projects as well as interacting with the campers by serving as “camp grandparents.” Housing and meals are provided. Mennonite Agencies
MCC responds to Middle East Crisis: MCC is appealing for $500,000 and relief kits to assist partner organizations in the Middle East as they provide humanitarian aid and build peace at the community level. Tens of thousands of Syrians have fled violence in their country to seek refuge in neighboring countries.  A significant part of MCC’s response is helping partners in Lebanon expand efforts that strengthen conflict prevention efforts and disaster preparedness.  Donations should be marked Middle East Crisis and sent to MCC PO Box 235 North Newton, KS 67117. For more information about assembling relief kits please call 316-283-2720 or visit mcc.org/kits/relief.

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:  MMN requests prayer for spiritual protection for pastors and their families in Mongolia.  Ask God for trustwoprthy friends and mentors for church leaders who may be lonely and misunderstood in their communities.

The Sower Prayer Request:  Pray for the Central Plains Pastors and Spouses Gathering happening next weekend in Nebraska.  Pastors David and Janice Yordy Sutter will present on the topic, “Finding Balance for Effective Ministry.”
