For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
I learned this Bible verse 66 years ago as a little boy in Sunday school at Hopedale, Illinois. This verse contains the heart of the Gospel message. God loved the world which means everyone including me, a farmer planting and harvesting grain every year. Because of God’s love he gave his only son to come to earth to die on the cross for me so that in believing I, too, will have eternal life. Because I believe that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and is the center of my life, it has affected my daily decisions, vocation, life partner and my day to day activities. Because He lives I, too, shall live. Halleluiah what a loving God we have.
Francis Litwiller
