Network. Pray that the SOOPers may be
blessed as they support the ministry of the school through tutoring,
maintenance and office assistance.
IMS board members,
faculty and staff have been meeting from 7:30 – 7:50 AM each Wednesday to
pray for IMS and community concerns. We
would like to expand this prayer time to include the broader community by
welcoming all interested individuals to join us at IMS. You are welcome at the school each Wednesday
or if you are interested in a weekly email outlining each planned prayer event,
contact the school office.
Crooked Creek
Christian Camp invites you to join us today for Climbing Club. Starting at 5:00 PM in the Activity Center,
we will spend two hours climbing, tying knots and having fun! If you are 16 or older and are interested in
checking out Climbing Club, call the camp at 653-3611 to save your spot. Registration is $10 and can be paid upon

Washington Area
Habitat for Humanity will be holding their 17th Annual Dinner at
the United Methodist Church
on Thursday, March 17, 2011. Serving of
the meal prepared by Ione Burham will be from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. An auction of unique items will follow at
6:45 PM. Tickets are $12 ahead of time
or $15 at the door. Tickets may be
purchased from Rhonda Henry at Federation Bank, any board member, or Myron
Graber (WMC representative). If anyone
wishes to contribute items for the auction, they may be brought to the United Methodist
Church the day of the
dinner.

IMS senior Kylie Miller
will present her Senior Recital in Dance this evening at 5:00 PM in the
school’s Celebration Hall. Kylie is the
daughter of Lyle & Lori Miller of rural Wellman, and has been studying
dance for 13 years with Dana’s Dance Studio.
All are invited to attend the recital; there is no charge for admission.
The John Kauffman Benefit is coming up on Saturday, February 19th at Iowa Mennonite
School. Mark your calendar for all-you-can-eat
waffles from 8:00 – 11:00 AM as well as a silent auction, live auction, bake
sale and entertainment by the Great Blue Herons. Donations can be made to “John Kauffman

Emma Yoder, a senior at IMS and the daughter of Dave & Lisa Yoder of rural Kalona,
will present her Senior Recital on Saturday, February 19, at 7:00 PM. The harp and voice recital will be held in
Celebration Hall, and will also include the IMS Chamber Singers, as well as
Gretchen Geyer, Riley Hochstedler, Ben Libby and Emma Yutzy. There is not charge for admission; all are
invited to attend.
All interested 8th-grade students are invited to check out IMS on Monday, February 21. Visit classes, attend chapel, enjoy lunch,
and learn to know other potential (and current) students. It’s a great day to ask questions, receive
information, and experience life on the IMS campus. Contact Chris Nachtigall at the school for
more information.
Iowa City-area Christians are invited to come together for a dialogue with theologian, activist,
author and speaker Brian McLaren, and one another, to consider the challenges
facing the church today. McLaren will
give a free public presentation on “Following Jesus in the 21st
Century” at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 4.
He will then lead a workshop for lay leaders and clergy on “Transforming
Christian Community in the 21st Century” from 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM on
Saturday, March 5. The workshop is $15
or whatever is affordable. First Mennonite
Church in Iowa City is a major sponsor of this event and
