Crooked Creek Christian Camp
▪ 2020 Summer Camp – After many discussions and
prayers, the staff alongside the board of directors has made the very tough
decision to cancel our 2020 summer camp programming. This was not a decision we
made lightly as we tried to think through how we could safely carry-out camp,
but couldn’t find a way that could ensure the health and safety of our campers
and staff which is of utmost importance to us. We are disappointed and saddened that we won’t get to
celebrate our 40th anniversary with regular summer programming, our ministry and the
reason we began 40 years ago,but we know this is for the best.
▪ If you have already registered your child for summer camp, you will be refunded in full. Though we’re saddened by this decision, please know we are working on a NEW way to experience and enjoy camp this summer. More information and details to come.
▪ Interested
in learning more about the monastic lifestyle?
Consider joining Michael Swartzendruber, pastor at Wayland Mennonite, for an extended weekend retreat May 14-17 at
Crooked Creek Chrristian Camp for an experience of simplistic living and
community. Due to Covid-19, space is limited. Contact mswartzendruber@gmail.com with any
questions.
▪ Applications are
being taken for the position of Program Director at Crooked Creek
Christian Camp. The Program Director is responsible for all
camp programming, which includes summer camp, CC Wild, and other
programs throughout the year, recruiting and supervising
summer staff, and marketing. Submit application, cover letter, and resume
to Heather Bender heather@crooked creekcamp.org

▪ If you're looking for great places to practice
social distancing, we have

enjoy.
Hillcrest Academy

Commencement Activities to be on Sunday, June
14 at 4:00 PM. We are working through the logistics of an
outside ceremony, a virtual ceremony, or the possibility of our
traditional ceremony. More details to follow. Please continue to pray for our
school, but especially for our seniors, as we do our best to finish the school
year well.

Central Plains Conference
▪ We have made the difficult decision to cancel
our in-person Annual Meeting for Central Plains Mennonite Conference this year. Given the continuing uncertainty
around COVID-19, we simply do not believe it is wise for us to plan an
in-person gathering. Alternative arrangements are in the works and we
currently plan to have a condensed delegate session via Zoom on June 20 so we can worship and
engage in the work of the conference virtually. Watch for more details as we
plan for the virtual annual meeting and conference-wide worship for June 20-21.
▪ Central Plains Prayer Request: Pray for the Board of Central Plains Mennonite Conference. We pray for
wisdom and courage as they discern the best ways for Conference
to continue supporting and encouraging and resourcing each
local congregation for ministry.
▪ COVID-19 Update from Mennonite Central

changing times. Monetary donations are being accepted at donate.mcc.org to support water, food, hygiene and
health programs around the world.
