Washington Mennonite

WMC hosted Saturday Kitchen at the Washington United Presbyterian Church on Saturday June 22nd, 2019.  We served one hundred and one plates filled with scallop potatoes, green beans, Amish dinner rolls, grapes and desert bars.  We also gave thirty three carry outs.  Thank you to each person who helped with this meal.  We are always blessed as we work together.  Our next time to host Saturday Kitchen is Saturday August 17, 2019.  Phyllis Litwiller and Gloria Widmer.

▪ Offering for 6/23/19 - Regular offering: $491.00;  Voices Together (Hymnal Fund): $455.21

Do you have any used taper candles that you no longer need? Please consider donating them to Crooked Creek camp for our special night at the pond!

Central Plains Conference

Central Plains Mennonite Conference Prayer Request:   Please pray for the Mennonite Church USA Convention happening July 2-6. That it might be a time of good fellowship, worship and discernment. We pray especially for David Boshart as he closes out his time as the MC USA moderator.

Mennonite Agencies

Mennonite Central Committee is now collecting Immigration detainee care kits. When people who have been placed in immigration detention centers are released, they often have nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Kits containing clothing and hygiene products can help to rebuild their dignity as they are taken to bus stations and airports to reconnect with their families in the U.S. Please visit mcc.org/immigrationkit for all the details of what goes into the kit and how the kits will be distributed. It is one small way we can share Christ’s love with our neighbors. All kit supplies should be sent to MCC Central States 121 E. 30th, PO Box 235, North Newton, KS 67117. Questions? Please contact MCC at 316.283.2720.

Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:  Pray for Arloa Bontrager and Mennonite Mission Network staff as they organize the service projects at MennoCon19, the Mennonite Church USA convention that will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, July 2-6. Pray for a strong witness to God’s love as bystanders see faith in action.

MC USA Announcement:  Pray this week for people of all ages attending MennoCon19, the July 2-6 MC USA convention in Kansas City, Missouri, that those attending may fellowship together, learn from one another, encounter God's love and be transformed.
