Washington Mennonite

▪ Offering for 5/26/19 - Regular offering: $1,089.00;  My Coins Count Final Total:  $457.15

▪ The new Mennonite hymnals titled, Voices Together, are coming in the fall of 2020.  They will be available for pre-order in June 2019,  The worship committee is hoping to raise the necessary funds by having treats and a freewill offering basket in the Fellowship Hall once a month.  The first "Turning Treats into Hymnals" day is today between church and Sunday School.  You are welcome to have a treat even if you don't make a donation but do whatever works for you.  If you wish to donate the price of one or more hymnals ($24.00 ea.) in honor of friends or family or as a memorial, we can put a nameplate inside the hymnal.  And, you don't have to wait for the treat time.  You can give any amount at any time but if you are writing a check, make sure you write (for new hymnals) on the memo line.   As funds start coming in, we will keep you posted as to the progress of this project.  "How Can We Keep From Singing?" Crooked Creek Christian Camp

▪ We are URGENTLY seeking male counselors for 3rd-4th grade camp June 12-14th and 1st-2nd grade June 14th-15th.  If you're interested or available for either of those camps please contact megan@crookedcreecamp.org. 

▪ Holy Cow! Crooked Creek uses over 300 pounds of ground beef each camping season and is looking for people to help sponsor or donate to this cause.  Please contact the camp office, 319-653-3611 to contribute. 

SundaySucIowa Mennonite School

▪ The Annual IMS Golf Tournament | On Saturday, June 15 IMS will host their golf tournament benefiting the Annual Fund at the Kalona Golf Club. Register to play or be a sponsor at iowamennonite.org/golftournament or contact Jeremy Ours at 319-656-2073 x13 or jours@iowamennonite.org.

▪ Save Room For Pie | IMS will be hosting another Into The Black fundraising event on June 28. Save Room For Pie will feature a concert by The Walking Roots Band, a silent auction of meals, and (of course) pie and ice cream. Look for more details soon but mark your calendars now and plan to attend this important event to help IMS get 'into the black' at the end of the year.

▪ Summer Camps | We have another great line-up of camps this year from art to music to sports and everything in between! Camps are offered K-12 grade. Check out all the details, camp requirements, and register at www.iowa mennonite.org/camps.

Central Plains Conference

▪ You are invited to a special evening meal as part of the Central Plains Annual Meeting being held in Kalona this year. On Saturday, June 22, annual meeting attendees and local folks are invited to Geyer’s Pizza Oven for an evening of brick oven pizzas, live music and fellowship. Pizza will be served from 5:30-7:30. If you’d like to attend, please email Monica Clem at office@centralplainsmc.org with your reservation, and be prepared to pay $12 at the door. Please RSVP by June 19. If you have already registered for annual meeting, your RSVP has been received and the cost for your meal is included in your registration fee. Please plan to bring blankets and lawn chairs. We hope to see you there.

▪ Central Plains Mennonite Conference Prayer Request:   Pray for the Central Plains congregations that are in the midst of processes of congregational discernment. We pray for God’s leading and guidance in the midst of changing congregational patterns.

Mennonite Agencies

▪ Mennonite Mission Network Prayer Request:  Eid al Fitr begins Tuesday at sundown. This Islamic holiday marks the end of a month of fasting. Pray for Middle East Media, a Mennonite Mission Network partner, that uses filmmaking, videos and websites to share God’s love and hope with Muslim believers in culturally relevant ways.

Area Announcements

▪ Ukraine Fundraiser Meal at UDC: Belgian Waffles with All the Trimmings will be on the menu at Upper Deer Creek Church on Sunday June 23, serving from 11:30am -1:00pm. A Team of Six adults will be Teaching English/Sharing Christ in Odessa, Ukraine July 13-26, alongside International Messengers, a mission agency that conducts and facilitates English Camps throughout the world. Cost is on a donation basis.
