Washington Mennonite

permitting) at the church. We’ll order pizza for lunch and split the cost among
us. We are starting a new quilt so there will be lots of room for everyone! If
you aren’t a quilter, there will be a comforter for you to knot!
Iowa Mennonite School
▪ Visit Days | January 21 and February 18 are the upcoming Visit Days for 8th
graders and transfer students. Join a host student in classes, chapel, and
lunch. Parents can come at the beginning of the day to meet with the
Administrative Team to
get

▪ The Chili Supper | The annual Chili Supper is hosted by the senior class and has been an IMS tradition since 1960. The senior class is currently selling tickets, but tickets will also be available at the door. Tickets are $10 Adults, $9 Seniors 65+, $5 Kids 4-12, and Free Kids 0-3. Plan to join us on Saturday, February 9 in Hillcrest Union serving from 4:30-7:00PM. And in addition to the traditional chili, we will again be serving the Mexican soup, Pozole [po'sole] with all the fixings. Also like last year, in Celebration Hall we will being doing our modern spin on the Audubon Society films you may remember from years ago.

Conference
▪ Central Plains Mennonite Conference
Prayer Request: Pray for the Annual Meeting Task Group as they meet at Iowa Mennonite
School on Tuesday to plan for our Annual Meeting June 20-23.
Also pray for the Pastoral Leadership Committee as they meet on Friday and
Saturday this week in Minneapolis.

▪ Mennonite
Mission Network Prayer Request: This
week, the Council of International Anabaptist Ministries will gather at MCC’s
Welcoming Place in Akron, Pennsylvania. Mennonite Mission Network requests prayer
for the leaders of North American and global mission agencies as they seek to
collaborate in doing God’s work in the world.

Mennonite World Fellowship Sunday is on January 20,
2019. The theme for this year is “Justice on the Journey: Migration and the
Anabaptist Story." Find worship materials for use on Jan. 20 or any Sunday
that works for your congregations, prepared out of the experience of MWC Latin
American churches at mwc-cmm.org/article/world-fellowship-sunday.
