▪ School Kits!
Yes, it is that time again. We are
collecting school kits for children around the world who don’t have the
necessary supplies. In the foyer you’ll find bags and a list of items that
go into the kit. We have a limited amount of bags this year but bring your
items and we’ll see that they get to MCC. Thanks for your generosity.
Central Plains Conference
▪ Attention women: Central Plains Women’s Retreat at Swan
Lake Christian Camp, Viborg, South Dakota on
September 15-16, 2018. “Empowered, Embodied, Beloved” with Heather
Coaster Goertzen. Heather brings experience of working with women and
families who have experienced trauma in the U.S., Bolivia and Canada. Bring a
friend and enjoy a weekend of inspiration, relaxation, interest sessions and
fellowship in a retreat setting. For a schedule of the weekend, check the

Cost: $95.
▪ Central Plains Mennonite Conference
Prayer Request: Pray for Cedar Falls Mennonite Church as they transition from a
building they own to renting space from First Presbyterian Church in Cedar
Falls. Today they host a reunion of former church members, pastors, and
friends to worship and a potluck dinner. Their first Sunday in
the new worship space will be August 26.

▪ Mennonite Mission Network Prayer
Request: Praise
God for Mennonite Mission Network’s 11-year partnership with Refugee and
Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) in
Texas. Pray for Katrina Kniss with Mennonite Voluntary Service who is
currently helping the agency provide free legal work to unaccompanied minors
and mothers with children.

noon on Sunday, August 19th for pork
burgers, calico baked beans, various salads, and various desserts a la mode. We
are taking free-will donations to support Karlee Lehman, who is joining the
REACH program this fall. Her team will travel to Phoenix, AZ to work with
AIMRight, with 3 months of discipleship training beforehand.
