▪ In
responding to MCC’s request for Infant Care kits, Washington Mennonite Women
are asking that you consider making a kit. A list of
contents is in your mailbox and costs about $40. A completed kit is on a table
in the foyer. Also on the table are a few extra items that you may use to
complete your kit. You might want to go together with another family to make a
kit! Be creative and have fun with it. Bring your completed kits to church no
later than June 17, 2018. Thank you for considering this donation.
▪ In the month of May, we’ll be Collecting My
Coins Count for Mennonite Central Committee during worship.
Iowa MCC Relief Sale
▪ Celebration Community Choir invites
singers of all ages to sing with them at the MCC Sale on Friday, June 1 at 6 pm
on the Main Auction Building Stage. We will have rehearsals on Thursday, May 24 & 31
at the Pleasantview Home Chapel from 7-8 pm.
▪ The Iowa
Mennonite Relief Sale, June 1 and 2 at the Johnson
County Fairgrounds, will be here before you know it! Below are ways you can
be involved and highlights not to miss!
- It's not too late to sign up for the 5K
Relief Sale Trail Run! Beginning at the Johnson County Fairgrounds and
continuing
through
neighboring Ryerson Woods, a 5K Trail Run will be
just the
thing to get you ready for the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast! A 1-mile walk
for all ages will also take place at the fairgrounds. The Run/Walk begins at 8am on Saturday, June 2. Cost is
$30/person, Register for both the run and walk at GetMeRegistered.com, search
for "Relief Sale Trail Run".
- Homemade baked goods are a real
treat! Check with your church representative on how you can help in making
pies, rolls or other baked goods to be sold at the sale.
- There is still time to sign up for the Tractorcade.
The tractorcade leaves Fairview Mennonite Church at 1:30pm
on Friday, June 1 to head to the fairgrounds. Your
church representative has the sign up form. Contact LaVern Shetler at

▪ Spring Music Concert | TODAY at
3:00PM
in Celebration Hall. This concert will feature Jazz Band, Chorale, Chamber
Singers, and Touring Choir directed by Alisa Kandel.
▪ Senior Art
Show | Rachael Hovde will have her Senior Art Show entitled 'The
Forgotten Realm' in the Celebration Hall lobby before and after the music
concert TODAY. Rachael is the
daughter of Bryn & Rebecca Hovde of Wellman. There will be a reception
following the concert.
▪ IMS Graduation Activities | Baccalaureate on Saturday May 26 & Commencement
on Sunday May 27 both are in
Celebration Hall at 6:00PM. The
Baccalaureate speaker is Scott
Roser. Student speakers are seniors Emma Beachy and Isaiah Swantz. Scott
is the father of IMS senior, Cameron Roser-Peet. Scott is the pastor at Spirit
of Christ Church in Iowa City. The 71st Iowa Mennonite School commencement
speaker is Gilberto
Pérez Jr. Gilberto serves as the Dean of Students at Goshen
College.

Central Plains Conference
▪ Today is a new day: the choice is yours. CHOOSE JOY! Youth and sponsors, take a
weekend to explore how God designed us to be filled with gratitude, contentment
and love. Youth Escape 2018 is July 20-22 at
Hidden Acres Christian Center near Dayton, Iowa. The retreat
runs Friday evening to Sunday lunch, and brings together Central Plains youth
in grades 7-12 for active worship, breakout discussions and a lot of fun!
