Washington Mennonite

▪ Offering for 8/6/17 -  $3656.00 (regular); $250 (HACAP)

▪ Today's picnic will be at the North Shelter (Shelter No. 2) in Wellman. This is across the drive from the shelter we used in June. There are limited tables so you may want to bring your lawn chair for seating or small folding tables for food.

▪ It’s time again to make school kits. Bags (with instructions inside) are on the table in the foyer. Please take as many as you’d like and return to the church by Aug. 20. There are a few “free supplies” on the table to get you started. MCC is also asking for Relief Kits. You will find lists of items needed on the bulletin board above the school kits. Take the full list to make a whole kit OR write your name beside items you want to provide and take the tear-off slip to remind you of what you will purchase. Bring those items to the church by August 20 also and place them in the large container beneath the bulletin board. Relief kits will be assembled from your supplies. Thanks for your generous giving.

Crooked Creek Christian Camp

▪ August 20 at 6:00pm: Lift your glad voices and sing! Join us for our annual hymn Sing and (deluxe) S'mores at Sunset Shelter by the pond. 

▪ August 29 at 5:00-7:00pm: Celebrate with the Crooked Creek Christian Camp community at our new Welcome Center. While you visiting have a burger and homemade ice cream at Sunset Shelter. Come and enjoy the evening with us!

Iowa Mennonite School

▪ Please remember IMS in prayer as we begin the 2017-18 school year on August 23. We have all positions filled and are looking forward to another great year serving our students in such a supportive community.

▪ Central Plains Mennonite Conference Prayer Request:  This week, conference minister Tim Detweiler attends a board meeting for Lombard Mennonite Peace Center. Pray for Tim as he travels and the board as they meet.

▪ Upcoming seminar to focus on women and money - Everence Financial will present an informational seminar, Women and money: Managing finances for everyday life at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21. Everence Managing Director, Harrisonburg, VA, Teresa Boshart Yoder will speak about the financial challenges facing women, using money wisely, and how women can prepare themselves and their families for what may lie ahead. The seminars will take place at Wellman Mennonite Church, 1215 8^th Ave., Wellman. ▪ Jordan Penner joins MCC Central States as the new Donor Relations Associate, working from Denver, Colorado! Prior to accepting this position, Jordan, along with his wife Jenny, served with MCC in Bolivia. We are excited to have Jordan join our staff and hope you get to meet him soon!
