Join Kevin Wilder, psychology professor from Hesston College, for our 2nd annual high school retreat: Body Mind and Soul: Living and Loving.  Youth sponsors received registration packets and there's more information online. 

Crooked Creek Wild May 6 at 10am We are excited to host our first challenge-course run! Participants will experience



the "wilds" of Crooked Creek as they climb through mud, cross the creek and encounter several obstacles--some handmade, some natural and all a blast! More information to come!

Iowa Mennonite School

The Culinary Arts Class will be opening the IMS Cooking Creations Restaurant three Wednesday mornings: March 8, March 15, and April 5 at 8:30AM.  The menu will include a breakfast main dish, fruit entrees and pastries. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the school office 656-2073. Cost per meal is $8. 
March 2 Prospective Family Night at 7:00PM This is an open house event for 8th grade and transfer students and their parents. You will get the chance to meet faculty, current IMS families, get information on registration, sports participation, financial aid and the application process. March 18 Turkey Steak Supper & Susan See's final recital, 'Journeys.'

IMS is looking for shuttle drivers - IMS shuttles students from Iowa City and Washington using school vehicles. We will have openings for both routes this spring and next fall. Persons interested in providing regular or supportive roles for our shuttles must have specific transportation qualifications which IMS will help support a qualified applicant in securing. Contact IMS at 656-2073 with questions or if interested.

IMS needs 4 vans for use during this spring's Interterm.  Each van needs to hold 7 passengers.  
Travel Dates: March 18-24 - Pine Lake, Mississippi (approx. 1600 miles); March 19-25 - Jackson, Mississippi (2 vans needed, approx. 1600 miles); March 20-25 - Camp David, Missouri (approx. 800 miles)
Additionally the Pine Lake trip is looking for a small enclosed trailer to be pulled by school owned vehicle.  Please contact IMS at 319-656-2073 if able to help in this valuable learning experience.

The first of a series of three “Tuesdays with Dave” Webinars is coming soon!  This series will focus on how the life and message of our churches can be infused with grace, joy and peace in a world seeking hope.  Join us on Tuesday, February 28, at 7 pm for the first teaching video “Witness in Exile: Longing for a Better Place” or at 7:30 pm for an online interactive conversation based on this video.  You are strongly encouraged to view the teaching video ahead of time in any setting where groups in your congregation gather (Sunday School, Bible Study, small group, etc.) or by individuals at home.  The teaching videos can be accessed at the Central Plains Mennonite Conference website at:  http://tinyurl.com/TuesdayswithDave. Iowa's annual MDS unit meeting will be on Sunday,  March 5th, at Eicher Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Wayland. Beginning time will be 2:00 PM. See Myron for details and schedule.

World Day of Prayer, Catholic Church, March 3, 1:30 pm.

SHAPE NOTE SINGING FROM THE SACRED HARP  - Come join us on Friday, March 3rd, at 7:00PM in the East Union Mennonite Church foyer as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord! The acoustics are lively, the fellowship is warm, and the harmonies are extraordinary.  This a cappella, 4-part early American sacred music stirs your soul.   All are welcome - no experience necessary!  Questions? Wellman Mennonite Church will hold their annual Mush Fry from 11:30 to 1:00 on March 5, 2017.  Invite family and friends to this old fashioned meal of fried mush, sausage, liverwurst, scrambled eggs, tomato gravy and applesauce.  Free will offering for the meal.

In our nation many are longing to get back to an agrarian lifestyle.  Come join a conversation about that journey which is both internal, in the formation of minds and hearts, as well as external, dealing with the complexities of land stewardship, food production, community and economic sustainability.  Ryan Harker, recent Anabaptist and a PhD student at Baylor University, will add his insights to the conversation.  Hosted at Dave and Anna Geyer's on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30 pm. Bring food to share for supper.
