were able to deliver 69 school kits for MCC! Your generosity is appreciated.
▪ WMC will be in charge of Saturday Kitchen this
week on Saturday September 10th.
The Food Signup Sheet and the Worker
Signup sheets are in the foyer. Please check to make sure you have the
correct time for the shift you are working and the correct food item you are
assigned to bring. Remember to wear your
RAGBRAI shirt on Saturday. If you don’t have a RAGBRAI shirt please
wear a dark blue shirt. Thank you in advance for helping with Saturday

Introduction to the Art of Biblical Interpretation. These webinars, which grow out of our
Covenant of Spiritual Practices, are especially for Sunday School teachers and
others who lead Bible studies, but anyone

Iowa Mennonite
School
▪ Thursday, September 8th following the JV volleyball match at IMS (around 7:00PM)
will be an ice
cream social for students in 6th-8th grade and their families. The National Honor Society students at IMS will
be our hosts. This is our first event of the school year so we hope to see you
there. If you would like to be added to our mailing list and to get a free

September 12 at 7:00PM Mennonite College Night
Admissions
representatives from Bethel College (KS), Bluffton University (OH), Eastern
Mennonite University (VA), Goshen College (IN), and Hesston College (KS) will
be at IMS September
14 to meet with prospective students and
parents. You may schedule 20 minute appointments with as many of
these schools as you like by contacting Guidance Counselor Dwight Gingerich
at dgingerich(at) iowamennonite. org. Priority will be
given to seniors by the younger students and parents are very welcome to
participate as times are available. Appointments begin at 4:00PM and
run until 8:30PM.
Central Plains
Conference
▪ Today is the last day to register for Women’s
Retreat at Swan Lake Christian Camp
on Sept 17 & 18! Special interest sessions will include PiYo (please
bring a yoga mat), Take Our Moments and
Our Days nature walk, coloring with friends, coffee and/or green smoothies,
and, of course, unorganized activities such as sleeping, swimming, boating,
running, reading, knitting, etc. You can
also look forward to speaker Debra Worth sharing on the topic Finding solace and joy in faith! Cost for the entire weekend is $80. Churches, please send in your group

Request: Pray for Central Plains

▪ Mennonite Mission
Network (MMN) Prayer Request: MMN
requests prayer for the UK Mennonite Trust (previously the London Mennonite
Centre) as it provides resources for Anabaptism in the United Kingdom. Pray for chairperson Stuart Murray Williams
as he mentors the next generation of Anabaptist leaders.
Area Announcements
▪ You are invited to Kalona
Mennonite for a fundraiser lunch on Sunday noon, Sept 11.
The Seekers Sunday School
class will be grilling chicken breasts, hamburgers and hot dogs. There will also be baked beans, coleslaw
chips, and a sundae bar. We will serve
until 1pm. The proceeds will go to Kalona
Mennonite’s International Student Aid fund. Our current project is Rudi
Mucaj from Albania. After receiving a
4.0 GPA his freshman year at Goshen College, Rudi spent the summer working on
campus. He is a currently a sophomore at
Goshen College.
▪ Fall meeting of the Crowded
Closet Association will be held
Monday, Sept 19, 7pm at Eicher
Mennonite Church. All volunteers and
interested persons are invited to attend and learn of the latest happenings at
the Closet.
▪ Find Freedom: Caring for the Heart Ministries of Colorado Springs is committed
to assist individuals, couples, and families find freedom from three main areas
- emotional issues, spiritual problems, and spiritual strongholds. Learn to
apply Biblical principles so that the freedom God originally planned for each
persona can be experienced. A conference with founder, John Regier, will be
held at Upper Deer Creek Church on Sunday morning and evening, September 18, and Monday-Wednesday
evenings, September 19-21. Thursday, September 22, will be an all day training. Evening sessions are free, but you
can register and pay ($40 per individual or $50 per couple) for the training
day online at udcchurch.com, as well as find more info in a full online
brochure. Several counselors will be available. To schedule a session, contact
