Iowa Mennonite
School
▪ Monday,
September 12 at 7:00PM Mennonite College Night
Admissions
representatives from Bethel College (KS), Bluffton University (OH), Eastern
Mennonite University (VA), Goshen College (IN), and Hesston College (KS) will
be at IMS September 14 to meet with
prospective students and parents. You may schedule 20 minute
appointments with as many of these schools as you like by contacting Guidance
Counselor Dwight Gingerich at dgingerich(at) iowamennonite.org. Priority
will be given to seniors by the younger students and parents are very welcome
to participate as times are available. Appointments begin at 4:00PM and run until 8:30PM.
▪ Iowa
Mennonite School will be hosting Pastor Jose and his wife from
Northern Mexico for a special Chapel service on Friday September 30 from 9:45 to 10:15AM.
They will be speaking about showing God's love to the poorest of the poor
in a city filled with drug cartel violence. All are welcome!

Women’s Retreat at Swan Lake Christian Camp next weekend
(17th & 18th)? If not,
you can still come and register on Saturday morning. The retreat begins Saturday morning with
coffee, cinnamon rolls, and registration at 9am and ends after the noon meal on

▪ The Celebration Community
Choir which meets every Thursday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. in the
Pleasantview Home chapel, invites singers of all ages to join them for their
2016-17 season. The group regularly performs for Pleasantview residents
and will be preparing a special Christmas performance. While regular
attendance is appreciated, the ensemble is very flexible. Come and join us as your schedule

Mennonite for a fundraiser lunch on Sunday noon, Sept 11.
The Seekers Sunday School
class will be grilling chicken breasts, hamburgers and hot dogs. There will also be baked beans, coleslaw
chips, and a sundae bar. We will serve
until 1pm. The proceeds will go to Kalona
Mennonite’s International Student Aid fund. Our current project is Rudi
Mucaj from Albania.
▪ Henry County Ministerial Association is
sponsoring Ted and Co., performing "Laughter is Sacred Space" at Iowa
Wesleyan University Chapel at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Doors will open at 6:30. Admission free. In this gritty and dramatic show,
Ted Swartz walks you through his relationship with friend and business partner,
Lee Eshelman, who took his own life in 2007. Ted explores the paradox of
working with a comedic partner struggling with bipolar disorder, as well as the
challenge of writing and performing stories about God while experiencing the absence
of God after Lee's death.

the Heart Ministries of Colorado Springs is committed to assist individuals,
couples, and families find freedom from three main areas - emotional issues,
spiritual problems, and spiritual strongholds. A conference with founder, John Regier, will be held at Upper Deer Creek
Church on Sunday morning and evening, September 18, and Monday-Wednesday evenings, September

She will be speaking about the Doctrine of Discovery as the foundation for Native American history throughout the USA, what MCC is doing to work toward different relationships with indigenous peoples.
