▪ “Grant and Edie will be leaving this week for Arizona to spend time with their daughter, Erin, and family over this winter.  We wish you God’s blessings and safety as you journey and enjoy this time with family and friends.  Our prayers go with you and we look forward to your return in March.”
            - Jon Widmer, Myron Graber, Mary Lou Farmer, Elders

▪ Prayer Request:  Please continue to remember Henry and Susan Alvarez of Washington, IA in your prayers.  Henry was detained last week by immigration officials and taken to Cedar Rapids; then transferred to Eldora.  He has a court date in Omaha on Monday, Dec 14th where he will be asked to post bond.  Their attorney thinks the bond may be $7500.  Once bond is posted, Henry will be able to return home.  Susan indicated that he will have 3 weeks following that to get documents ready and then he will appear in court again.  After that court appearance and acceptance of all the paper work, he would be eligible for a work permit and would not be deported.
Please pray that the legal process works for Henry to be able to stay with his wife and four step-daughters.  Susan expressed her thanks for all the prayers on their behalf.  She is elated that the initial court date was set this soon and Henry should be able to be home for Christmas.

Does sexualized violence concern you?  If so, MCC US invites you to participate in an online survey about this issue.  Your answers to the open-ended questions will be used to guide MCC US in its creation of trainings and resources for pastors and leaders in the faith community.  Log on to mcc.org/wwso to complete the survey by the end of December.  See the bulletin board for more information.
