Bike to Church Sunday: Start lining up your sponsors for Bike to Church Sunday sometime soon. We’ll meet in Central Park for juice and
donuts and then actually bike to the church for the Sunday morning
service. Get people to sponsor you at $1
or $5 per block for the $16 block trip to benefit MCC.

Iowa Mennonite
School
IMS opens the 2014-15 school
year this week,
with faculty and staff beginning Monday the 11th, and students
arriving Wednesday the 13th.
Please keep the school in your thoughts and prayers during this time of
new beginnings and anticipation of a positive year!
Central Plains
Conference
Women’s Retreat at Swan Lake Christian
Camp is scheduled for
Saturday and Sunday, Sep 20th and 21st. Conference pastor Shana Peachey Boshart
is speaking on the topic “Growing in God – What’s Working for You?” Presentation sessions will focus on children,
young women/mothers and empty nest/beyond.
There will be time on Saturday afternoon to enjoy activity sessions and
a variety of music/singing throughout the weekend. Pre-registration is requested and due by

The Sower Prayer Request: Pray for all
the Sunday School teachers in our conference getting ready for a new year,
especially those getting acquainted with the new curriculum, Shine. Many teachers will receive an introduction to
Shine this month.

Mennonite
Mission Network Prayer Request: Alisha and Josh Garber, serving
with MMN, foster community life in the residence halls at LCC International
University in Lithuania. Pray for them
as they build relationships with the 53 Russian students and 69 Ukranian
students on campus, helping them listen to each other and develop conflict
resolution skills.
Prayers for faith and learning: Pray for Hesston
College students arriving on campus for a week of practices, team community
building, orientation and a jump start on classes. May their interactions be blessed as they
build friendships with one another.
Area Events
The Calvarymen will give the message through music at Sugar Creek
Mennonite Church on Suday, August 10th¸at 10:30am. A free-will offering will be taken. The Calvarymen is a Southern Gospel singing
group from Hartville, Missouri. For more
