Penny
Power Offering for the MCC Sale: Any change you can give will go towards aid
for drought stricken Zambia by building dams that will help provide safe
drinking water. $15 pays for one bag of
cement and each dam requires 30 bags.
Baked
Goods for the MCC Sale: If you would like to bake pies, rolls,
cookies, or coffeecake pick up the pans and labels in the library area. List all ingredients you use on the tags
provided. Pies are rolls are needed the
most because they sell out quickly. See
Roger or Joanne Roth for more information.
Iowa Mennonite School
Adults and youth, IMS requests
your help at the MCC Sale Children's Booth.
We will have a bouncy house, games, face painting and crafts available for
children attending the sale. Please sign up for a two-hour shift to help
on Friday or Saturday. Contact Candi Schmieder at candi.schmieder
at gmail.com or call
319-560-0541. For the younger kids...be sure to stop by the children's
booth to visit us for some fun and help raise money for MCC! We will have some
entertainment along with the activities on Saturday.
Mark your calendars for Saturday,
June 9, when Iowa Mennonite School will
host an evening of music! The
music will be provided by local churches: solos, groups, ensembles,
choirs, etc. We're asking each church to provide one or more
"entries", and to contact Larry Swartzendruber at IMS to register your
group. It is NOT a contest, but rather an evening of musical
enjoyment. Of course all are invited
to attend the event; it will include
a fund-raising offering in support of IMS' Annual Fund.
Please check the poster on the bulletin
board for more specific information.
The annual music student fundraiser, "Hymn Sing Hustle,
5K and 1 Mile Fun Run and Walk" is scheduled for Saturday, June 23 at IMS, 8:00 am. 5K
= $20 and 1 Mile = $10. You can download a registration form from the IMS
Web site under Music/Drama", or email Karenza Yoder at iowamennonitemusic at gmail.com to get a registration form.
All profits from this fundraiser go directly to the IMS students to help them
pay for music festivals and trips. Pre-register by June 2 to ensure a
t-shirt, and race fees increase by $5 each after June 2.

fire up the grill and add to that your creativity to share a meal to benefit MCC. We are looking for those who are
able and willing to sell a meal at auction at the Iowa Mennonite Relief
Sale. If you have been “thinking about the possibility” now is the time
to pick up the phone or send an email and get your meal on the list of meals to
be sold. You may call Marcia Miller at 319.656.3242, Cell Phone 319.430.3376

Annual Meeting of Central
Plains Mennonite Conference will be held in Henderson, NE, Thursday June 28 through Sunday
July 1, 2012. We are pleased to have Ervin Stutzman, MCUSA
executive director, as this year's speaker who will share
during worship time each morning. Delegates, as well as non-delegates who
register in a timely manner, will be seated at round tables of 7-8
people throughout the sessions, which facilitates discussion.
Following worship, there are reports and updates, conference
business, lively discussion, open microphone time for table response,
afternoon workshops, and a variety of evening presentations.
Meals will be served on site for registered attendees, and lodging is
offered in local homes, or area hotels. Registration information can

cities. Check out the details online: Service.MennoniteMission.net.
