WMC ICE CREAM SOCIAL  We will have an Ice Cream Social on Friday evening at 6:00PM at the church.  We will have bowls, spoons, napkins, ice cream and chocolate syrup.  You may bring other condiments of your choosing.  Bring your own chair. We will be outside by the front door. All servers will be washed up and masked.  We ask that you wear a mask when up at the food table being served.  We will practice physical distancing as much as possible. This will be a proper event!

MCC Kits:  Funds for School and Health Kits should be received by the treasurer, today, August 9th.  Thanks.

"We here at Tribulation and Trust Ministries are blessed to be partnering with you in meeting the needs of the community and furthering the Kingdom of God. We would like to pray a blessing over you and yours, as this is the most valuable resource we have. Dear Jesus, we are grateful for the abundance and outpouring of generosity coming into this ministry and thank you for allowing Washington Mennonite Church to see the vision which we see and how we can work through you to serve what you teach us daily. We ask you to help further this vision and the partnership we are building with Washington Mennnite Church. Please continue to help them follow the path you seek for us and bless them in many ways as well. We shall always remember that all great gifts, big and small are from above. Thank you Lord. Amen. - Darren Brown Director"

Crooked Creek Christian Camp

You're invited to: "I Sing for Ice Cream" (previously known as "Sing and S'mores") September 13 at 4pm. Bring your lawn chairs and singing voices. Face masks/coverings will be required. Instead of standing around a fire close together to make s'mores, we will be enjoying homemade ice cream sandwiches while keeping our distance. We really look forward to connecting with you all in this way! Contact the camp office with any questions!

Hillcrest Academy

▪ Shuttle Drivers Needed | Hillcrest Academy is in need of shuttle drivers for the 2020-21 school year. There are two routes available: Washington route AM and PM on Mon and Wed and Iowa City route PM Mon-Fri. This shuttle is essential in providing transportation for students to and from school. Please prayerfully consider if you are able to help in this mission. Contact Rebecca Beachy Miller Rebecca Beachy Miller at rbeachymiller@hillcrestravens.org or (319) 656-2073 x20 with questions or if interested.

▪ Back to School | We will begin the 2020-21 school year with in-person classes on August 24. As we strive to engage our students and nurture our community in safe and meaningful ways, we ask for prayers of guidance as we work together to navigate our situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iowa MCC Relief Sale

Many thanks to everyone who donated to the Iowa Mennonite Relief Sale and Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) despite the lack of a live sale. Your generosity resulted in gifts of $5,076.98 from the 5K Socially-Distant Run; $4,927.20 for My Coins Count and $49,803.65 in donations after May 1st. This allows the Iowa Mennonite Relief Sale board to send $50,000 to MCC for 2020.

Central Plains Conference

▪ Central Plains Prayer Request:  Pray for Stephen Griffen as he is installed for ministry at Bellwood Mennonite Church, Milford, NE. We ask that God would bless his ministry at and with Bellwood.
