Washington Mennonite will meet NEXT SUNDAY at Crooked Creek Christian Camp.
Camp supporters from all area churches are invited to attend Church at Camp on
Sunday, June 24 at 10am. Worship will be at Sunset Shelter by the pond and led
by summer camp staff. After church, stay for a finger-food picnic potluck.
Please bring non-refrigerated finger-food dish to share. Drinks and picnic
tables provided, lawn chairs welcomed. (Note: because we will not be collecting
a WMC offering at camp, please remember to plan your donations accordingly.)
▪ Next Sunday (June 24) Amanda will be representing
our church at the Central Plains
Mennonite Conference annual meeting in Lincoln, NE along with Edie Nebel
and Andrea Nussbaum. Pray for the work of the conference and for the gathering
time of annual meeting.

"Remembering Your Story" Sunday School on July 1st. "Remembering
Your Story" will resume on July 8.
▪ Halcyon House Service, 2:30pm, July 8 – Come worship along with the Halcyon House residents
and help us sing! Mike Bates is a team
player, so don’t make him sing a solo!
▪ At the end of the "Preaching the
Vision" sermon series (July 8), we'll put out a set of "preaching the
vision" sermons for
those who
missed Sundays and would like to hear the sermon from those days.
▪ Saturday
Kitchen: On Saturday June 9th WMC hosted
Saturday Kitchen. We made our usual ham and scallop potato dinner serving
70 plates and 30 carry outs. Our guests are always appreciative of the
hot meal and carry outs. Thank you to everyone who had a part in our turn
as a church at Saturday Kitchen. Someone remarked “You have so much fun
working together.” We do indeed have fun as we work together. Our
next scheduled time to host Saturday Kitchen is July 28th,
2018. If you haven’t helped with Saturday Kitchen before please consider
joining us as we work together to provide a free hot meal to all you
come. Thank you for your help. Looking forward to our scheduled
turn at Saturday Kitchen July 28th. Please join us, you will
be glad you did.

▪ Reminder
that today is the day we'd like all Infant Care Kits to be turned in.
Thanks for helping the babies and moms around the world! Mennonite Women
group will meet on Wed., June 20 at 10 a.m. at the church to quilt or knot
comforters. If you haven't turned in your infant care kit before then, bring it
on the 20th! Lunch will be potluck.
Crooked Creek
Christian Camp
▪ The Crooked Creek Christian Camp Board of
Directors is pleased to announce that Pam Gerig Unruh will serve as Interim
Executive Director effective June 18th. Pam has a
passion for Crooked Creek and has been an active participant in camp life serving
as a camp pastor and providing leadership for summer staff orientation for
several years. She has served as co-pastor at Wayland Mennonite church, taught
at Iowa Mennonite School and most recently served as interim pastor at Zion
Mennonite Church in Donnellson. A search process for an Executive
Director will soon be underway. Please be in prayer as the search committee is
formed and for those that might have an interest in the position.

▪ IMS Shuttle Driver Needed | IMS is
in need of a shuttle driver for our Washington route on
Wednesday through Friday during the school year.
This shuttle is essential in providing transportation for students to and from
school. Please prayerfully consider if you are able to help in this mission.

both writing camps,
drama camp, and our remaining sports camps (soccer,
volleyball and boys basketball)! Registrations are available online at www.iowamennonite.org/camps.
▪ Youth Baseball & Softball Night
| At the June 18
IMS home games local youth ball players will recognized. All players (and
one parent) will get in free if wearing their respective teams jersey. Please
check in at the scorers table when you arrive and introductions will be made in
between the JV and varsity games.
Crowded Closet
Thrift Shop
▪ Crowded Closet Thrift Shop celebrates 40th Anniversary with festivities all week at the
shop, June 18 - June 22!
The week will feature great shopping, fun, food, and prizes as Crowded Closet
celebrates our community of shoppers, donors, and volunteers. Check
Facebook for details.
▪ Crowded Closet Thrift Shop is moving! The shop has plans to relocate to the west end
of the former Kmart building on Hwy 6 in the beginning of 2019 to expand
capacity, improve accessibility, and enhance visibility. Stay tuned for
updates about this exciting transition ahead.
Central Plains Conference
▪ Central
Plains Mennonite Conference is seeking a Conference Minister for Christian
Formation
(.5 FTE) to provide resources and equipping for formation leaders in Central
Plains Mennonite Conference. Beginning date: August 1.
Central Plains Mennonite Conference is
also seeking a Communications Director (.25 FTE) The Communications
Director edits the monthly electronic newsletter to congregations, a bi-monthly
newsletter to all members, and oversees the website design and content.

Laura Schlabach of Mennonite Mission
Network is transitioning into the interim executive director’s role with JCS,
the consortium of mission agencies through which Mennonite Mission Network
serves in Mongolia. Pray for wisdom and peace for Laura as she takes on these
new responsibilities.
