supper and Maundy Thursday fellowship service at church.
Sign-up sheets for bread, fruit, vegetables, and oil lamps are in the
fellowship hall.
▪ Saturday Kitchen: WMC will be serving the noon meal at Saturday
Kitchen March 31st.
Sign-up sheets for food items and workers are on the table in the foyer.
There are several lines for $10.00 donations if you would like to also
participate in some of the expenses of the meal. Thank you in
advance for your help as we take our turn serving at Saturday Kitchen.

Iowa Mennonite School
▪ Touring Choir | The IMS Touring Choir is on tour. The next concert is on Sunday
March 18 at 7:00PM at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church. The public is
welcome at all choir events.
▪ Turkey Steak Supper | The IMS Alumni Association along with the TWP Optimists will
host the annual Turkey Steak Supper on Friday March 23 at IMS.
The menu of turkey, baked potato, salad, dinner roll, and pie & soft serve
ice cream (that's right we'll have a soft serve ice cream machine) will be
served from 4:30-6:30PM. A freewill donation will be taken at the gate.
▪ Touring Choir | March 23 will perform with the Hesston College Bel Canto Singers following the Turkey Steak Supper in Celebration Hall. The
show will begin at 7:00PM.
▪ Senior
Recital | Monet Slabach daughter
of Lance & Nichole Slabach, will present her senior recital in Celebration
Hall at IMS at 7:00PM on Saturday March 31. She will be
performing a variety of classical and contemporary selections of piano and
voice accompanied by family and friends. Hors d’oeuvres will follow the
recital.

Conference Prayer Request: Pray for Central Plains churches that are looking for pastors.
Pray for search committees, for conference minister Tim Detweiler and for
candidates looking for churches that God may guide the search processes

adult opportunity to serve with MCC: Looking for ways to actively engage in
issues around justice and equity, with the support of a community? Are you a
Spanish speaker? Perhaps the Seed Central America Program is for you! Seed, a
global two-year program, is being implemented and led by MCC with young adults
between 20 and 30 years of age. The Seed Central America program focuses on the
crossroads of place and ecologies of peace -- in Guatemala, Honduras, and

Request: Last
month, Taiwan experienced a powerful earthquake that killed at least nine
people. Mennonite Mission Network requests prayer for the people of Taiwan as
they grieve the loss of loved ones and
rebuild their lives.
Area Events

West Union MYF invites you to a delicious
haystack fundraiser meal on Sunday, March 18th at noon. Bring your friends and enjoy a time of
food and fellowship! Proceeds will go to cover expenses for this summer’s
service project and convention expenses next summer.

Host Families | The Hesston College Bel Canto Singers will
be in concert in Celebration Hall at IMS on Friday March 23 at 7:00PM. The concert will also have
some joint songs with our IMS Touring Choir. The IMS Music Boosters are looking
for people to host the Bel Canto students overnight on Friday evening.
This would entail picking up the students and taking the students home for
overnight after the concert on
Friday evening, feeding them breakfast the next morning, providing
a sack lunch for Saturday, and having them back to
IMS no later than 6:15AM on Saturday. We are still in need
of people to host 7 females (2 groups of 2 females and 1 group of 3 females –
one person will need handicapped accessible for a wheelchair) and 5 males (1
group of 2 males and 1 group of 3 males). If this is something you would
be willing to help with, please contact Wanda Miller Beachy at beachydw@sharontc.net or 683-3983 by Saturday March 17.

Good Friday Tenebrae Service: Join local Mennonite churches as we worship
together Friday, Mar 30, 7pm at
Celebration Hall in Iowa Mennonite School. High school students will share
testimonies relating to Jesus’ last seven words before his death on the cross.
Child care will be provided for ages 3-8. Student speakers are Brandon Jimenez,
Joya Schrock, Jacob Boller, Edna Villatoro, Cameron Roser-Peet, Isaac Miller,
& Emma Beachy.
▪ Stewards of the Earth – An Earth Day
Conference – Iowa Wesleyan University invites you to attend the 2018 Manning Lecture and Earth Day
Conference on Sunday, April 22
at 1:20pm in the Chapel Auditorium.
Professor Robert Grant will
deliver the keynote address, “Eco-Librium: A New Stewardship of Creation.” The lecture will be followed by two workshop
sessions including: Composting in your Backyard; Planting for Pollinators;
Recycling for Everyone; the Quilt Game for Climate Change; Organic Farming;
Wind and Solar Energy; Water Quality in Iowa; Stewardship and the Bible;
Reducing Your Ecological Footprint; Aldo Leopold’s Land Ethic, and much
