Financial
report: As of the end of November our Annual Blueprint (budget) stands at $-1775.01. Can we
erase this deficit and start the new year with a positive balance? Thanks for
your continued generous giving to the mission of Washington Mennonite Church.
If you have questions, contact Mary Lou Farmer.
▪ Though
it seems a long way off, Christmas is coming! We'll be having a 6:00pm service here on
Christmas Eve, and, because Christmas falls on a Sunday, we'll also have a 9:30 Christmas Day service. If you or
your family would like to volunteer to be a reader, a musician, or to share any
other special talents on Christmas or Christmas Eve, let Amanda know as soon as
you can!
▪ “I
want to apologize for using a public space such as the church
bulletin last week to comment on Mary Lou's decibel levels. Though she can be
appropriately vocal when need be, calling her loud was unnecessary.
Please accept my
apology,
Megan (often too
loud) Miller.”
▪ As her
Christmas present to the church this year, Amanda commissioned Myron to create
the Nativity scene displayed outside the church. Thanks Myron and Martha
for all your hard work! The nativity looks great!
Crooked Creek
Christian Camp

▪ IMS Food Drive 'For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to
drink…' Matthew 25:35-36 The IMS chapter of National Honor Society
is hosting a food drive to benefit area food pantries. We have set a goal
to collect 1,000 food items for the holiday season. Please help us reach our
goal. Bring your non-perishable food items to IMS any time between now and
Dec. 16. NHS students will
gather and sort the items and deliver them to the Wellman and Kalona food
pantries on Dec 16. Thank you for helping your community in this very
special way!
▪ On Saturday December 10 Freeman Foods in Wellman will be having their 'Support Your School' event
for IMS. On that day 5% of all proceeds at the Wellman store will be donated to
IMS. Stock up for holidays and help support IMS!
▪ Christmas Music Concert - December 11 at 2:30PM in Celebration Hall at IMS. The concert will feature
Chorale, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and the Symphonic Band.
▪ Prospective Family Christmas Party following the music concert on December 11, we will have a
Christmas party for 6th - 8th grade students, transfer students and their
families. We will have some Christmas cookies, crafts and games hosted by one
of our student groups.
Central Plains
Conference
▪ It’s not
too late to start Advent family worship. Just go to www.anabaptistfaithformation.org and download “Come, Walk
in the Light of Day,” a free guide for family worship from November 27 to
January 6.
▪ Video and audio recordings
of the three Bible Study Webinars with Meghan Good are available on the Bible Study Webinars page at www.centralplainsmc.org. Make use of these to raise
the bar on reading and interpreting the Bible: Sunday
School classes and Bible study groups could watch and discuss them together; Sunday School superintendents could use them to train
teachers; individuals can watch them for personal growth.
▪ Central Plains Mennonite
Conference Prayer Request: This first Tuesday of the
month, join Friends of Pastor Max and the conference ministers in fasting and
praying that God would make a way for the Max and Gloria Villatoro Family
to be reunited.

Area Announcements
▪ This
Sunday, December 4th following Sunday School

in his next ministry. Bring your table service and a dish or two to
share and feel free to invite others from the community to attend as well.
