Our Church
▪ At their
meeting on Wed, May 4, the Church Council agree to start a Carpet Fund to replace
the torn and frayed carpet at the east entrance of the church. Please place your donations in the offering
earmarked for “carpet.” Thank you! If you have questions, see Mary Lou Farmer.
▪ Washington
Mennonite Church will be hosting Saturday Kitchen on Saturday May 21st which is in two weeks. Signup sheets for workers and
food items are in the foyer. If you have
helped us before please sign up again.
If you have never helped at Saturday Kitchen please sign to help
us. We have a great time working
together and serving persons who need a hot meal or just need the fellowship of
others as they sit around the dinner table and enjoy a good meal. If you have question please contact Phyllis
Litwiller, Gloria Widmer or Sandy Buhrow.
▪ There will
be a women’s Bible Study this summer
on Monday mornings at 7:30 beginning
June 20th. They will be
studying “Children of the Day” by Beth
Moore. The study comes from 1st
& 2nd Thessalonians. If
you would like to join, please let Becky Widmer know as soon as possible so
that she can order study guides for all attending.
▪ Remember
to save your change (or bills, large and small) for MyCoinsCount, a special offering that we’ll be taking each week
between now and the end of May. This
years MyCC project is wells in Lebanon for Lebanese people and Syrian
refugees. Let’s try to beat our
congregations’s MyCC total from last year, $816.86!

Central Plains
Conference
▪ With the help of some extraordinary efforts,
including two anonymous donors providing a match, our conference was able to
end the year in the black – thanks be to God!
Income for April soared to
$50,411.25, while expenses for the month held steady at $35,671.14. As a result, our final income total for the
fiscal year was $447,672.08. Despite this
income total being $38,000 less than the spending plan, we were able to cut
expenses in order to achieve a positive cash balance for the year. We give thanks for all of the financial
support, and we are energized to start the new
fiscal year on this
positive note. – Central Plains Stewardship Task Group
▪ The Sower Prayer Request: Pray
that Youth Escape 2016, the biennial youth retreat for Central Plains youth,
will be a time of spiritual growth and renewal for the youth and adults who
attend July 15-17.
