As most of you know, our 12 Scriptures are chosen! Here they are (in no particular order)
1. Matthew 5-7 (The Sermon on the Mount)
2. Philippians 2:1-11 (Imitating Christ's humility)
3. John 3:16-17 (For God so loved the world)
4. Mark 12:30-31/Matthew 22:34-40 (The greatest commandment)
5. Romans 15:5-7 (Live in harmony with one another)
6. Psalm 100 (All lands summoned to praise God)
7. Romans 12:1-21(New life in Christ and marks of a true Christian)
8. Micah 6:8 (Do justice, love kindness, walk humbly with your God)
9. I Corinthians 13 (The love chapter)
10. Matthew 25:35-41 (For whatever you did to the least of these, you did to me)
11. Matthew 28:18-20 (the great commission)
12. Galatians 5:22 (The fruits of the spirit)
It was a long (and often difficult) process, but we're finally here. Now we need to figure out ways to keep these scriptures at the forefront of our minds and hearts--how do we learn to better know, understand, and live out these scriptures in each of our lives and in the life of our congregation?
A few ideas:
Read them!
Memorize them!
Make them into art!
Put them on your refrigerators!
Make up creative ideas for thinking about and remembering these scriptures!
