Living in the Word: Formed by Scripture
We
believe that God was at work through the centuries in the process by which the
books of the Old and New Testaments were inspired and written. Through the Holy
Spirit, God moved human witnesses to write what is needed for salvation, for
guidance in faith and life, and for devotion to God.

ABIDING
“Surely God is my
salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become
my salvation.” - Isaiah 12:2 NIV
I
sang “The First Song of Isaiah” in a church choir almost twenty years
ago. It became a very special song
for many of us in the congregation.
The words of this verse have remained with me over the years. They bring comfort to me during times of
fear and uncertainty and remind me that God is always with me. - Karen Bates
