ABIDING
“I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”   Isaiah 45:3

To summon is defined as “authoritatively or urgently calling on (someone) to be present”.  That God calls on me to be present, summons each of us by name.  I wonder if we were truly present in each moment what we would find.  Hidden treasures of God’s goodness and love?  Riches stored in secret places that we might miss if we are not present?  I love this invitation to embrace the present, this moment.  Learning to embrace the moment so that we might find the abundant life Jesus offers us.  A simple, yet complex challenge.     Angela Stauffer Widmer
