Saturday, Nov 9, camp is hosting annual
Wood Cutting Day. Come with chain
saws and pickups or to exercise. Please
call ahead to reserve your lunch spot.

Nov 22-23, camp will be replacing the
North side of the Pavilion roof. 4 volunteers needed Nov 22 to prepare the roof for steel sheets. 8 volunteers needed Nov 23 to nail down the steel sheeting. To

Iowa Mennonite School
Get your tickets for the production of The Little Mermaid, Jr. by calling the school soon! The Nov 9 (7pm) and 10 (3pm) production will
feature a cast and crew of more than 50 students, under the direction of Mary
Forney and Josh Tyson. Tickets are $8
for adults, $5 for students. Free passes
will be honored, but seats must still be reserved.
IMS’ National
Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive in the lower lobby of Celebration Hall, on Friday, Nov 8. Donation times are from 7-11:30am; appointments
can be made by calling the school, through walk-ins are also welcome.
The IMS Music Boosters are again organizing a
Pizza Ranch Fundraiser, on Mon,
Nov 18 at the Sycamore Mall location in Iowa City. The event will be from 5-8pm; IMS music
students will bus tables and assist throughout the evening, with 15% of the
proceeds benefiting the booster club.
Gratuities will also be gratefully accepted!
Central Plains Conference
The Sower Prayer Request: Pray for the
new Conflict Management Support Team which is prepared to help congregations in
conflict and plans to provide training workshops for Central Plains folks.
Mennonite Agencies
Mennonite women, young and old, are invited
to the annual Fall Mennonite Women’s meeting where we will
celebrate generations of strong Iowa Mennonite women. From baking pies to making soap to piecing
quilts for beauty and for warmth, wise Iowa women have been doing sacred work
for generations. Join us at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 2 at Kalona
Mennonite Church to hear stories from our past and learn skills from our
grandmothers, mothers and daughters. We
encourage you to invite someone of a different generation to join you in this
celebration. The cost is $20 per person
and registration is required. Check your

Team to visit Ecuador late Feb/early Mar 2014 If you are interested in joining together
with brothers and sisters from across CPMC to go to Ecuador this winter, please

This is a great opportunity to work alongside brothers and sisters in a
different culture and climate and to deepen our relationships with our

Mennonite Mission
Network Prayer Request: Bopaganang Basha Youth Centre in
Botswana has a troupe of actors who present dramas dealing with HIV/AIDS,
substance abuse, and domestic violence.
Although the group is much in demand for their productions, MMN’s
Melanie Quinn requests prayer for the participants’ spiritual growth and life
skills.

Farm succession planning seminar on
Nov 14 The Parkview Community in Wayland will host “Farm
succession: a family matter.” The
seminar will focus on succession planning for farm families. Specific topics will include creating a
successful plan, how to get started and an introduction to trusts, LLCs and
corporations. The seminar is scheduled
for 6:30pm at Wayland City Hall, 218 W Main St.
