Crooked Creek
Christian Camp
During the night of Sunday, October 26, CCCC was the
site of vandalism sustained at four buildings around camp. We are grateful to the quick response of
local law officers, our insurance company and a professional cleaning
company. The most significant damage was
sustained at the Retreat Lodge. We used
a professional cleaning service due to the large amount of broken glass
(plates, windows, glass bowls, jars) and fire extinguisher dust. The timeline as of Wednesday Oct 29th
includes being operational for the upcoming weekend. We did experience a violation of the peace
and tranquility that so many have come to enjoy at Crooked Creek. We now work to create order out of chaos so
that God’s peace may continue to be experienced by many more people. Thank you for your prayers.
November 18th is the annual meeting at CCCC that includes dinner, stories about the year and a
business meeting. The meal is served at
6:15pm and the program begins at 7pm.
This invitation is open to all people interested in camp including
members and non-members alike. RSVP not
required. If you wish to become a member
please talk to Tim Friesen.

The IMS chapter of National
Honor Society is hosting a blood drive on Monday, Nov 3, from
7:30-11:30 am in the lower lobby of Celebration
Hall. Donors may call ahead for an
appointment at 656.2073 or 683.2586…or may also walk in.
IMS students are busy preparing for the fall production of The Curious Savage (John
Patrick). In a world of greed and
dishonesty…kindness and affection do still exist; that will come to life Nov
8 and 9, at 7pm and 3pm, respectively, in Celebration Hall. Eleven students, under the direction of Mary
Forney, will share their talents; advance tickets are available for $8 (adults)
or $5 (students). Please contact the
school.
Parents of IMS juniors and seniors are invited to explore the college
tuition process by attending IMS
Financial Aid Night on Monday, Nov 10, at 7pm. Hesston College director of financial aid
Marcia Mendez, along with Dori Roth, will provide tips to help navigate both
the tuition and financial aid process.
They are also available that evening for 30-minute individual
appointments, from 4-9pm. One need not
be considering Hesston College to participate.
For more information, please contact Dwight Gingerich at IMS.
The IMS Music Boosters are once
again hosting a fund-raiser for the music department on Monday evening, Nov
17th. From 5-8pm at the Iowa
City Pizza Ranch (Sycamore Mall location), all patrons are invited to enjoy
a pizza buffet at a discounted price in support of IMS; all tips will go to the
boosters as well. The booster club
appreciates the support of the community, which aids in the purchase of
equipment, as well as other support for the department.
